Australia is a great country for car enthusiasts who love importing vehicles from overseas, as the government doesn’t impose heavy taxes on these imports. It's understandable since Australia doesn’t have its own car brands to protect. However, some countries, despite not having their own car brands, still impose a 100% tariff on imported vehicles just to follow U.S. directives. It's quite a shame.

A word of warning about the auto seat moving in the Tesla. It eventually wears out the mechanism. My Model 3 needed fixing after the warranty expired so now I don’t use it.

It appears that Chinese EVs will be arriving in force in Australia in 2025. How long will it be before Chinese brands dominate the Australian car market?
@LudicrousFeed2 ай бұрын
That is the multi billion dollar question

More variety means better choice for Australians. Be thankful we have a FTA with China who have been a major trading partner for Aus. Australia has to look after itself and not be a follower. Just think if the opposition were the government of the day the situation could be entirely different.

So I have a few questions. While some great features being around same price as Model Y doesn't win me over as so many unknowns. Where do you get it serviced or repaired ? do you get upgrades for years same as Tesla ? Will for self driving become an option if and when it ever becomes available ?As it's a new unproven product and brand resale may be poor especially if it turns out to have any magor floors.
@LudicrousFeed2 ай бұрын
As you say there are a few unknowns for now so I’ll answer what I know as of Sep 2024: - Servicing via a nation-wide centre has been apparently confirmed but not yet publicly disclosed - OTA Software Updates will be made available in a similar fashion to Tesla although frequency may vary - XPeng is developing its own self driving software known as XNGP Will update with more info as they come to light

I realise this is a first impressions drive so not everything gets shown however, my concerns is so many features are controlled through the screen so much so that the passenger acts like a co-pilot. There need to be physical switches and/or voice activated commands. I'm sure it is a quality car in every other respect. One thing I noticed at the beginning was an annoying bong. Thanks for the video.
@LudicrousFeed2 ай бұрын
The bong was the door not being shut properly. It’s certainly more minimalistic than others on the market when it comes to controls.
@flukeylukey75592 ай бұрын
While not physical buttons, you can create your own buttons along the bottom of the screen which should be easy to find. Or you can use voice commands.
