I watched this while finishing the last few riddler trophies for Arkham Knight. Finally platinuming this game was special to me because it’s my favorite Batman game and this is my first time getting all the riddler trophies and doing full knightfall

Great podcast good banter 🙂 I definitely agree about getting rid of online trophy. I do agree about there can be too many collectables for trophies. The bit where your all talking about what trophies are crap was pretty interesting.

I love the effort Naughty Dog put into the Uncharted trinkets from a design standpoint, as a lot of them are cool, but the issue is definitely the amount across each entry. Do we really need 100+ treasures to find? It's not fun like the speedrun or no kill challenges... I think 1-3 treasures per chapter would have been more appropriate.

I think a game series that does collectibles very well. Dark Souls, where each "collectible" is a spell or a weapon that you can use if you invest your stats into it. Also lego games, you collect gold bricks that let you unlock more character or levels where you get more collectibles and it just works as a nice gameplay loop

Love watching the discussion of collectables/grinds, il be on the side of never take it out! I hate how much games are glorified checklists that anyone can achieve and believe games trophy lists should have something to set them apart, you start taking out collectables/online/grinds your only trophies left will either be story only or like marvels spiderman where over half the people who play it get the platinum. Great episode, took me a while to get through the whole thing haha

I think a platinum should be about experiencing the entire game and showing a mastery of the game. Every game is different, but when it’s not enjoyable to do, then I think they are doing the platinum wrong. It’s supposed to be entertaining. Make the 100% the tedious, not fun, time wasters if you need to put it on. I with Adam.
