Good evening 👋 I want to thank You for Croc 2 gameplay 😅 I don't know how long it have been since You record it, but Your voice is really good to listen. I have already started to improve my listening skills (I am from Poland and have been studying English at university for 2 months). Your videos makes it easy to learn and enjoy games at the same time. Best of luck 👍

@@jasonite_gaming It really depends on what you need to record. I got one of the oldest because it supports both HDMI and Composite/Component, as I want to record retro consoles. I have no experience with newer Elgato devices but the newer ones do not work with retro consoles, although they do provide a better quality recording and the ability to livestream (which the older ones do not). If you only want to record HDMI then there are a lot of devices you can choose from (not only Elgato), as recording digital video is very easy to do. The reason why there are so many Elgato devices is because each Elgato device does something a little bit different; you would have to choose the one that fits your demands the most. But if you want to record retro consoles, most of which are analog video, you're probably going to have to buy a different device for each retro console you want to record (especially if you are using imported games). Just remember to buy the correct type of recording device, as while some are USB and might not work with every operating system (i.e. Windows or macOS), others you will have to build inside your PC (which may not always be an option). I would highly recommend to just search KZbin guides, do as much research as possible, and when you do start recording, that there are going to be a lot of roadblocks and mistakes you're going to have to learn from. Eventually you're just going to have to start somewhere and make a choice, be patient with yourself and grow from there.

@@Rayque3 I been wanting to record gamecube gameplay and PS2 and PS3 gameplay

@@jasonite_gaming If it's only to record the GameCube, PS2/PS3 and nothing else, the easiest solution would be getting the original "Elgato Game Capture HD" (NOT the "Elgato Game Capture HD60", just the normal "HD"), as that can record your GameCube through Composite, PS2 through Component and PS3 through HDMI. However, the GameCube recording quality will not be looking great, because Composite has a large loss in video quality and a very small resolution (thankfully, the Elgato Game Capture HD does support the Wii, so you'll have that alternative if you ever want to do that). That would probably be the most budget-friendly and user-friendly solution, without having to mod anything. I don't have experience with recording Playstation consoles on the Elgato but I do know that it's supported in the software. On top of the Elgato, you are probably going to have to buy some cable splitters for the composite/component cables (which are interchangeable), if you don't have any. From my experience, the Elgato is not able to provide a preview on the TV for older consoles with analog video, so you'll have to split the cable from the console to the Elgato and your TV.
