See that's the thing I've never understood about the sentence structure Chinese uses. How do you manage to make a moment like that suspenseful when the name is one of the first things you say?

There is a way to structure a Chinese sentence where the persons name is revealed at the end, like how you can say “the person who is going to open their briefcase is Ludwig” and “Ludwig is the person who is going to open their briefcase.” context matters a lot in Chinese, just like any other language. Saying a persons name at the beginning is more for commons for everyday use, while saying a persons name at the end is more for revealing. I honestly don’t really know why the translaterchose to phrase it the way he did. Sorry if my explanation is confusing 😅

He said: “接下来，请Ludwig打开箱子看看…里面是什么“ “Next, may Ludwig please open the briefcase and see… what is inside” whereas the better translation would be ”接下来，打开箱子的人就是…Ludwig” ”Next, the one to open their briefcase is… Ludwig” Don’t know why he translated the way he did, but at least it still gets the point across albeit with less suspense🤷‍♂️

Just a correction the portuguese shouldnt be represented with Portugal flag it should be represented by brazillian flag because the dub is in brazillian Portuguese ( who is a different dialect)

@@spheromancer_ The grammar isn't completely different, there was a spelling agreement(1990) between Portugal(+ the african countries that speak portuguese) and Brazil to unify the language even more. Now if in informal speech(while speaking) the Brazilians decide to speak grammatically incorrect, it isn't a case of the language being so different and more about speaking it without caring about the grammar rules. That's why in writing there never was a problem in understanding each other, the problem is in the speaking department . And regarding the flag situation it's probably just a simplification, in the end the language is Portuguese= Portugal. Maybe they could have done it like in the English, where they put both the UK and US flags, so it would be Brazilian+Portuguese.
