Roxie, I know the feeling of trauma and pain. I was raped and molested for ten years from 4-14 years of age. Two to three or four times a day. I never told a soul until I was forty eight. It’s a long story even why I told my mother then.. but I know she knew all along. She could have stopped it but she never did. It was a man that owned a grocery store, not a relative. I did not start therapy until I was in my early fifties and I still go. I am in my seventies but I cannot convince anyone of that. I am always being asked for ID. You take care. I have to listen to Lunell’s interview later. I am at Ophthalmologist with dilated eyes. 😂😂😂❤️❤️

I was raped in the military. At the time of my rape, I was embarrassed and not trusting of the system that victim blamed. So, I never pressed charges. I found out later that he went on to rape another female soldier after I got transferred to another duty station. That happened over 25 years ago and I still see a shrink to deal with the guilt I feel of not stopping this man when I could. The sad thing is, I’m still not brave enough to pursue a conviction. Wtbs, there are numerous reasons why people don’t come forward. Maybe Cassie was talked into speaking her truth after all this time. I commend her for getting it out of her system. I can imagine it probably felt like a boulder being lifted off her chest.

I later spoke to an ex boyfriend who said the thing I think I needed to hear which was “you survived”! I did not press charges and I did go to the hospital. The lack of empathy for those who undergo mental and psychological subjugation from people who have power over them is staggering. Everyone doesn't respond to trauma in the same way. Some people aren't able to speak up, some people don't have familial support, etc. We are not all the same. We don't all respond to trauma in the same way. Be open to experiences other than your own. I've had experiences that would fall under this category. It doesn't matter when I speak the truth. John Q public doesn't get to decide that it's invalid because I didn't do it in what they deemed a timely manner. You can say it's not victim blaming, but it is. I know I'm shouting into the void, but it had to be said.

I am 67 I was rape when I was 12 by my mom’s boyfriend at the time my sister heard everything she kept it quiet so I don’t know she knew 30 years later the reason I did not tell my mom is because I knew she would never believe me one day 30 years later my sister told me she knew four years later my sister and I fronted my mother and told her what happened she went off left my house. Walking told me we were lying. She never came back in my house that night. I lived in South Carolina. She went back to Jersey City a week later and we never spoke about it again that’s why I didn’t tell my mom because I knew she wouldn’t believe it and if I had told my father, I was afraid he would’ve killed that man, this is back in the 60s when it happened. My mother knows but she’s never spoke of it again.

My friend was locked in the closet, abused by mom's bf, and mom knew about it. Pure evil.

Vlad you're comments regarding Cassie are Disgusting and disturbing, who are you to say when someone comes out? And who are you to say how they handle the situation. Abuse situations aren't always hostile. You can be abused emotionally mentally and financially and if you took the time you could see that. Those are also the forms of abuse it's the best young lady experienced. Conversations such as this are why people that are victims. Don't come forward because they are always turned into the villain.

Thank you for your empathy and humanity. I had to hit the dislike button because of how Luenell and Vlad are talking about this. People are entitled to their opinions 100%. BUT just because you are strong enough to react the way you did in reporting or getting out of an abusive situation doesn't mean that those who didn't/couldn't are wrong or are lying. It's the same argument on how abused men and women dont leave domestic violence situations until they end up dead. It's a toxic, mind hijacking situation that is hard to get out of. Add context like age differences, socio-economic disparities, one side having all the power plus personal traumas that leave you seemingly stuck in toxic relationships. I'm freaking happy for all our brothers and sisters who make it out. I think the time has come also for us as individuals to ask ourselves whether we are good, kind and treating the people in our lives well. It can't only be in the victims to act. The perpetrators must seek therapy and help to understand what makes them hurt others for them to stop being abusers (behind bars is a good place to do this).
@IvyGypsy10 ай бұрын
I agree. Also when they say they don't understand how this can happen and why they didn't do this, and how can someone force you & you not leave etc. Well that's the biggest thing when it comes to manipulation! A lot of these abusers, especially those who are financially set and are popular, they use their finances to keep a hold on you and to keep you on an invisible chain and invisible locked door! It's psychological/mental abuse. They know their victims weakness and some just have a thirst for fame & think this is the only way to get it. Let's be for real, someone like Diddy with the amount of money & popularity they have, are you willing to risk your life to rush & file any suits or bring up any charges? I would play it smart too! I would wait until I feel more confident that I can get people to listen or feel more safe about doing so.

Cassie didn’t tell for a long time because of grooming. She was brought into the industry as a teen by her first producer and basically pumped out to Diddy. She talked about how Diddy was like a father to her (before the SA) and that he eventually started pressuring her and using manipulation to bend her to his will. When you grow up without a dad it’s hard learning to difference between men who genuinely care. I’m not saying that for every woman without a present dad but I specifically feel for hererr

@@jerseybutterfly2785hard to prove bc of the timeframe, plus there would evidence which would probably be embarrassing to her that could possibly be leaked. For those kind of men you need multiple people to come forward, not just one. It’s a very daunting task putting a billionaire in jail. For all powerful men to go to jail it was multiple women who had to come out, not just one.

I was sexually assault twice in my adult life. I have told no one about it. I simply avoided that person who assaulted me. I regret not saying anything. I know those people are probably still abusing and assaulting women. I was molested as a child, and my mother threatened me if I told my dad. That may be the reason why I didn't tell anyone. Then you see interviews like this, and once again, I feel less inclined to say anything. Congratulations Luenell you have a better village than other people who are abused. NOT EVERYONE DEAL WITH TRAUMA THE SAME WAY.

Everyone is different. Good for you for telling the same day, Luenell. Everyone is not built like you. Its like saying any person who doesn't have a platform speaking about injustice are ok with injustice. Some people are ashamed, feel threatened, and believe it or not sometimes they protect the perpetrator so they won't cause confusion in the family or at work. My mom told me that ppl will believe a guilty man before a rapped woman, and women will throw stones to kill her, knowing it also happened to them.

@cynthiaali3175 True! I told what I saw happen to my cousin. A few days later, my brother & I were riding our bikes playing a game that we often would, which was to see how far we could get through a patch of sand besides my grandmother's house. We both got stuck and fell. We started laughing at each other. Out of nowhere, my aunt, who son had molested my cousin, came out and started hitting me with a doubled tied switch & her hand. She wouldn't stop. I ran as fast as I could home. My mom grabbed me in her arms and asked my brother & I what happened, but we both were shocked and couldn't speak. My aunt told my mom that I pushed my brother off the bike and was hitting him. After my aunt left, we were able to tell my mom the truth. My brother didn't talk to anyone that day. I guess that aunt talked to my other aunts, and I would hear them calling me fast and talking about my mom. My cousin ( the victim) was mad at me for 20 years. We were 8 years old when it happened. I knew that she was mad because I told what happened. Finally, after all of those years, she stopped by my house with her mom and my mom with us. She asked me to tell her the story again. When I did, she responded, "That's why I'm mad at you. Why do you act like it didn't happen to you that night? I said because it didn't. She looked at me so angry, then confused and stared at me. She got closer to me and said yes it did in a more calm voice. I said no, it did not. She started to tell the story again from her point of view, and when she started to tell about me washing myself while crying, then it all came back to me. I just froze like it was happening again. A part of me was angry because I remembered. A greater part of me couldn't believe that I had blocked it out. My cousin started crying & just held my hands because she could see that I was reliving the shock. Our mothers were angry even 20 years later. I would love to say that my cousin and I are back close like we used to be, but we are not. We love each other very much, but I think we remind each other of that night. Plus, we lost a lot of years in pain. At eight years old, I was whipped, talked about, mistreated, and told that I was the reason why it all happened.

On the subject of Jonathan Majors... There is a western movie called Sgt Rutledge (1960) and in that film, the lead black actor has some lines where he was telling a white woman who was hiding out with him at a train station because Apaches were on the warpath. He told her this... "If anyone comes to rescue us, you ain't going to be in here with me. A white woman only spells trouble for any of us." It's funny how those lines still ring true to this day. I guess what I am trying to say is this... If you are a black man with a white woman, don't get caught up in the legal system because they will try to run your ass over with the legal bus. However, regardless of skin color, my mother always told me this... "Son, when your relationship with any woman becomes hostile and immutable, it's time to go!" May God rest her soul... I have followed that advice all my life. I always pack my shit and leave! I was married at one point in my life and packed my bags to run away from my wife because she was toxic.

@@lexqbeanable Bad relationships are exactly like that song by Ashanti called "Over"... she has a line in the song that goes something like... "The more I tried to change you, the more it changed me." Sometimes you just have to walk away so you can maintain your own sanity.

@penuup210 ай бұрын
So I am just going to say this. I feel like Vlad has changed as far as how cocky he’s gotten. He’s become very braggadocious, very chest poked out. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 On the Tupac case. It really felt like he was going at TPH in a passive aggressive way about standing up for her worth. You are sitting in front of another black woman telling her about another black woman and basically saying shut up and dribble. TF. He basically has eaten off of our black culture. From drugs, incarceration, deaths, fights, shootings, music, fashion, relationships and pays folks for information. He is very opinionated about our culture and what we do and say in it. Why is he so fascinated? Because he has made a name for himself. Where is his culture or his people? Where are those interviews? Would like an inside look at that on display. So here’s the thing. You cannot compare yourself with actors and actresses that are fighting for fair anything. Period! He asked the question about why do folks agree to things or not negotiate. Because folks want to work, don’t want to be labeled as an angry black woman, don’t want to be labeled as hard to work with, don’t want to miss out on a paycheck, don’t have a choice. You do know women are still fighting for equality right. He asked why folks don’t just create their own content. Everyone is not trying to shoot on an IPhone. Folks have bigger ideas than an IPhone can capture. It is hard to raise the capital because a lot of your working peers are in the same boat as you. Working for less pay. Has he ever shoot an interview on an IPhone?
