I grew up in Oakland in the 80s, and The Fresh Fest used to come every year from 84 through 87 to the Coliseum. Granted, we always dressed for battle just in case something popped off, but we had hip hop shows come through. Smaller shows were also at the Henry J Kaiser center too.
