9:52 I think you should do the Necrons with the middle color scheme. The one on the right as a second pick. Also: I'm quite envious and sad I never got the Epheral Stern box. I would've loved to have the graphic novel as I came into the actual hobby because of the Sisters of Battle. But that was my fault for neglecting it. I won't repeat that mistake with Indomitus though, and needless to say as a Space Marine player (along with Sisters player), I can't wait. I think I should also mention that I've had some experiences with cutting myself while cleaning models. The first time was with Thousand Sons Rubrics.
@aBoogivogi4 жыл бұрын
Thoughts on the limited nature of this box? I am just getting in to the hobby and figured it was a good place to start as the Necrons are one of my favorite factions outside of the space marines. By chance I was up when the pre-order went live. It took less than 2 minutes before the stock was depleted and the GW site was struggling like crazy just before throwing lots of 404 page not found errors for multiple countries. Needless to say I did'nt get one. While I can get that a limited editions item now and then is good business it really pisses me off when the limitation is created by producing X number of items then selling them when they could have just had a limited order period of say 1-2 weeks and a 1 item per customer rule and made everybody happy while still keeping the exclusive nature of the product. After all it's not like people really care if what they are ordering will be shipped tomorrow anyway with a pre-order.

I do have to disagree with the guy above as there are simply loads of aspects to your pick! You need to enjoy the models just as well as like the lore, as dealing with awful, out-dated sculpts will be tough even if you love the lore of a faction. I'm starting necrons because they just hit a few important points - amazing value set, neat lore, lovely sculpts, fun idea on how to paint them. Without any one of those I don't think I could go for them. So it just takes some time spent considering the various options.

top tip when you cut yourself with a scalpel. Squeeze the opening real tight with your other finger, remove excess blood, then just put a dab of superglue and let it cure. Wound is closed, no bleeding and you can continue to work. It also heals nicely, leaving almost no visible scar, or no scar at all (as the scalpel blade cuts nicely). Not gonna work with deep cuts though. I tend to use dull blade when doing all the cleaning and never swap it before or on the go, as you still will be thinking that it's your old dull blade, and apply the same pressure. I usually change for the fresh blade when I need to do precise cutting, or when I cut plasticard, cardboard etc.
@deadswordsman4 жыл бұрын
@Daniel Chang There is actually proper glue (liquid stitches, tissue adhesive) you can buy and use (in some cases it can even replace actual stitching), but as hobbyist I always have CA glue at hand, just make sure it's not getting into the wound (at least not too much, as it will cause some burning sensation). Also scalpel blade cuts are not that deep and long, so you can get away with CA glue. I would not use it for some serious stuff, if the wound is deep but doesn't require stitching, use disinfectant and then cover your would with tape or bandage. But it sure works fine for minor cuts (eventhough it's bleeding a lot, it's not a serious cut).

after the starter boxes were release I say that actaully Indomitus itself is the best starter box for 9th with the Elite and Recruit boxes as addons or cheaper options because the "command" box set while pricier than the other starters,it gives you a sub part book (on my opinion, for the kind of players that don't care if their book includes lore or not I guess it's fine) and just terrain instead of models which I find pointless because....lets be honest, making your own terrain is cheaper and can be 10 times better too if you put some effort.

i swear mold lines are only a problem for marine-type models. I have orks and admech. Ive never removed a mold line, i simply dont see them. Lot of sprue stubs and irritatingly located ones at that, but never mold lines. (Finecast doesnt count)
@nekrataali4 жыл бұрын
It depends on how old the model and kit are, along with how many kits are made. Space marines are made in quantities that exceed the GDP of entire countries. This wears down the molds, which is what causes flash. Admech are a relatively new faction and likely have molds in good condition. I have a lot of Orks and have to clean mold lines, but that's because most of my Ork kits were purchased in 3rd./4th. Edition, but in some cases were 2nd. Edition/Gorkamorka kits that were already a decade old when I got them. If you're working one of the newer Ork kits, like the Speedfreekz box set, there's not as much flash since they're produced in low quantities compared to Space Marines. Basically, it comes down to the molds getting misaligned during the casting process and the type of casting process used. Some of the WHFB kits towards the end of the game's life were still using two-part molds that had been in use for almost a quarter of a century. The High Elf kits before some of the 6th. Edition updates were a fucking pain to clean. The current Eldar miniature range is still using molds from 2nd. Edition and it shows. They require a fuckton of cleanup.
