One of the greatest dads in fiction. Whitebeard is just THAT guy. I love him, even up to current material I consider him one of the best One piece characters in the whole story. He has so much hype to live up and in this arc you see him do so and surpass that by far imo.

There are actually a huge number of book tubers who have been getting into manga, specifically One Piece, as it is just an all around epic absurdist fantasy. One of The Greatest fantasy epics many believe.

Damn, just over a minute. I'm still at around 2:15-2:30 average. Also I don't know what the cap in "2 cube cap" means and at this point I'm too afraid to ask. So many great moments in here, I can't cover them all so I'm not going to, especially since you already got them in the discussions. And based on the last community post I think I'm just gonna let the arc sit with you till the end of the arc haha. As for Shelly's channel, I've seen her recommended and saw her early videos but haven't been keeping up. I've mentioned her before but I'll plug Merphy Napier as well - she basically started getting booktube into manga when she fell in love One Piece (alongside Daniel Greene). She also approached it from a literary angle, and she covers Oda's literature references as well, having videos on parallels between Dante's Inferno and Impel Down, for example. She's been caught up for a while so maybe avoid her channel until you're there too but it is insane the number of people who picked up One Piece solely because of her.

Definitely recommend reading the arc in the manga. It has probably the most double-page spreads out of any arc till this day and is extremely densely written. Really great stuff. Also: I recommend paying attention to how the fights against the admirals go in the manga. Just for a better perspective when considering the rest of the series. The anime changes lot of small things (especially with Akainu) making the admirals look worse and Whitebeard better than they actually are (assumably because Whitebeard's the main driving force the audience is supposed to root for in this arc). This tends to distort the way anime only audience sees the Navy for the rest of the series, which I think damages the experience a little. A small example from episode 476 of this video: Akainu blocks Whitebeards attack with his leg but in the manga he also has his hands in his pockets while doing so. It's a small detail but if you think about it, it does show that he is genuinely being casual about it. There's also more, FAR more important ones later in the arc. Anime showing the admirals doing worse against an old and wounded emperor twists audiences view of them negatively so I think it's worth it to see how the exchanges actually went. Many fans tend to base their image of the admirals on the anime, which seems to cause some misunderstandings. At least that's my experience with the fandom, having followed the series over 15 years by now.

Doubt it. It would be very out of character for him. He's literally the one who kept pulling out poison hooks and hidden daggers while fighting Luffy while spouting "there's no concept of unfair in a fight among pirates". He's far too cool to be a hypocrite about it.
