This is not a spoiler The real reason ace seems strange is because in the manga he never went into the desert with the crew he left at the ship. But because of his popularity the anime decided to keep him around for a few episodes which lead to a lack of dialogue.

It's been awhile since Ace has seen his brother, so he's observing how Luffy's crew is and how much Luffy has changed since he last saw him. It's the mature older brother looking out for his younger brother.

Ace acting weird is simply a result of his presence here being filler. At this point he had a very limited page time in the manga and the anime didn't really know how to deal with his character. It is weird how at times he looks mad or like he's plotting something lol

Just wanted to point out, the information Nami is talking about with the Dance Powder and how artificial rain clouds can be formed is true and based on our own real-world weather manipulating technologies that have actually existed for decades! Even the part about how it rapidly matures clouds in the air, using all the available moisture to force clouds to form and start raining, and by doing that, you literally steal and deprive the lands downwind of any rain since there will be no more moisture left in the air. That's why the United Nations have agreed on some resolutions that basically prohibits any country from using any form of weather manipulation. They consider it akin to an act of war since it can be used to cause a drought in neighboring countries. Just thought that was an interesting tidbit and really cool of Oda to tie in some level of real-world science along with its socio-economic and diplomatic consequences...

Akatsuki is an organization where they have a leader (pain) recognized by all and works for a goal, where as warlords are totally individual ones. Warlords have their individual motives and do their own work. Even World Govt. can't even force them. Warlords strengthen World govt against a certain force that's why World govt supports them which I'll not spoil but they are just called 7 warlords by counts.

I kinda understand what the person mentioning the warlords is saying but I also understand your guys side as well. The seven warlords of the sea are pirates so powerful that the navy/world government allow them to do whatever they want as long as they affiliate themselves with being on their side and to avoid any kind of conflict. But you guys wouldn’t know exactly how powerful just yet with only seeing Mihawk and him setting the bar so high.

I think I know what you're talking about but I'm not even sure they kept that tiny tidbit in the anime. I'm pretty sure you're referring to something that you only get in the manga. That said, because this reaction is edited and cut down for KZbin, idk if they just cut it out here or if it was even in the original episode, and I'm too lazy to go rewatch it and check lol. But they actually cut a fair bit from the manga in the anime during the pre-time skip arcs, and because of that they had actually very good pacing. So I'm pretty sure (although not 100%) that the scene you're referring to was 1 of the little things they cut thinking it was unimportant...

These episodes are filler. In the manga, Ace sails away after meeting the group on the ship and using his 'fire fist' on the Billions' ship. That is why some things may feel out of place like how the crew behaves or Ace behaves. There is no reason Ace wouldn't enjoy their company or he would look so disappointed as he did here. Just one of those filler things.
