you do have to admire Dash's actions during the prank. she could have easily flown away and saved her own skin, but instead put her life on the line to keep everyone away from what was making them sick.

Yeah, I'm of the firm opinion that the town overstepped the mark with the zombie prank. All the pranks that Dash pulled were NOTHING compared to making someone think that everyone she cared about was fucked up. That could be seen as psychological torture. It was pretty twisted and cruel when you think about it.

The most common argument I've heard against this episode is that is regressed characters, but I can't for the life of me figure out how, or who. Do you mean the return of Twilight Snarkle? Because I loved bitchy Twilight from the first two seasons. Do you mean scaredy-cat Fluttershy? Because she told Rainbow off, and then called an intervention so everypony else could tell her off. Do you mean Pinkie Pie? Because she agreed to help stop the pranking, which shows a growth in maturity (almost moreso than any other episode I've seen). Rarity and Applejack barely had enough screen time to showcase any personality (unless you count Rarity agreeing to smear cookies on her muzzle, which doesn't strike me as something she would've done awhile ago). Or do you mean prankster Rainbow Dash? Because there has never been an episode where Dash learned to not take pranks so far. In fact, Griffon the Brush Off ending with Rainbows being in the *right* to prank Gilda. So explain to me, please, how any of these characters were regressed. I'm serious, I can't figure it out.

1.1. Its Rainbow Dash, in GBO Dash and Pinkie agreed that Fluttershy is off limits for pranking. That was a first red flag. 1.2 You would think after so many times that Rainbow Dash gets a friendship lesson about her being a total jerk, why are we (viewers) still have a brand new episode where Rainbow Dash behaves like a total jerk. Writers just please move on. 1.3 The same reason why Fluttershy suffers from eternal fear, Rainbow Dash is constantly portrayed as a insensitive jerk, Rarity, AJ, Pinkie and Twilight probably still had their own sins that need to go away like a few seasons ago. 2. The thing that worries me about AJ and Rarity is their recent development of them being troublemakers. Talking about the bad influence to Ms. Dash. While Fluttershy and Twilight complained, Rarity and AJ both encouraged Dash, _Yeah nice job, I dare you to do more._ I was kind of hopping that Twilight would say something like _What are you two doing? Stop encouraging her._ 3. This episode technically horrifies me because someone needs to show those ponies Zombieland. if the prankster (sorry spoilers here), wants to play pretend a zombie prank, then he will most likely will get a shotgun shell to their vital organs. 4. I don't know if you noticed but it never occurred to Twilight to take a mob to Rainbow Dash house and toilet bomb it (that would probably be cruel, but its not any less mean that Dash was doing) to send the message, or just go to her (with the mob) directly and say _look, the whole town is fed up with you will you stop?_ 5. Minor nitpick (spoilers) Rarity had a telekinesis. There is no reason for her to just go and take the manikin from the top of the cake. Is cake Rarity's kryptonite? I don't know?

Response to Leonid: (I hope this doesn't come across as arrogant or accusatory. I just wanted to explain why I disagree on some of the points you listed above, and suggest some remedies for the points on which we agree.) 1.1 As Luffy pointed out while watching, Pinkie Pie was there to _stop_ Rainbow Dash in GBO. RD didn't learn a lesson. She merely agreed "Yeah, you're right", meaning she already knew what Pinkie was saying was true but she still would have pranked Fluttershy anyway if Pinkie hadn't stopped her. 1.2 There are ways to be a jerk without realizing that one is being a jerk, such as how Pinkie made Fluttershy cry in Filli Vanilli. Not properly taking someone's feelings into account is not nearly the same as RD's earlier jerky behavior, such as in Dragonshy. 1.3 Good characters will always be imperfect. They may work on their flaws, but they can never overcome them completely. In Fluttershy's case, she has come a long way in terms of timidity/assertiveness and a fair ways in working on her namesake, her shyness. However, these characters need to maintain _some_ of their flaws. Perfect characters are boring characters that are difficult to write for (which is probably why we still don't have a Celestia episode). 2. I do agree that AJ and Rarity should not have inserted the comments that they did in this conversation. RD's friends really should have talked with each other first before inviting Dash to the meeting to make sure that they were all on the same page. As it was, the conversation felt terribly disjointed, like hearing two different criticisms from two groups of people at the same time. 3. There was never a danger that RD would attack one of the ponies in self-defense because she had been made to believe that they were being made sick by, and hungry for, the cookies. Even when RD was being cornered in the barn by everypony, she wasn't afraid for her own life. She was afraid for the _others,_ trying to keep them away from the "harmful" cookies. That was why she took the cookie cart with her when she fled with AJ, Rarity, and the CMC. 4. I agree that a direct confrontation with Dash would have been better than trying to go through Pinkie Pie. However, I believe this elaborate counter-prank was a better idea than going on the offensive and doing something like toilet bombing RD's place. First, there was no actual damage done with this idea. Second, the counter-prank could never have been carried out if Dash didn't go through with her own prank (by switching out the cookies), so there was no danger of escalation. Dash had to share in the blame for what happened to her because it required her own actions to put it into motion. 5. Rarity knew that RD knew she had telekinesis, so Rare would have assumed that RD had accounted for that. Based on that assumption, even the act of lifting the uniform off the top of the cake would have still triggered something. (Edit: I think it actually would have done something that would ruin the outfit, and the sewing-machine cake was merely phase B of the prank.)

I certainly enjoyed this episode. True, I was angry with Dash for scaring Fluttershy half to death, but her pranks were actually pretty elaborate, even if no one else found them funny. Also, who doesn't love zombies? XD

Kinda agree with you there. Since this episode I knew RarityDash was kinda way too attached to his favorite character that he broke down to his disappointment seeing Rainbow Dash's character being downgraded in this episode. Personally, I don't really care that much about character development as long as I still sense some enjoyment throughout the episodes I'm watching, and I'm not going to be cynical over a brilliant episode and the goodness behind it just because of one small flaw. TL;DR, like, incorporating a zombie cliche in a little girl's show? That's rare, and it's genius!

I try to watch episodes with different reactors to get varied perspectives, but Luffy and Blank Check are always first, and the ones I look forward to most. Ratchet is up there too, because for someone who spends a lot of time making jokes he picked up on a lot of things in RWBY that other reactors missed. The "zombies" in most zombie movies are not zombies either, as it came from the zuvembvies of Haitian Voodoo, that were believed to be re-animated dead (not living corpses) in the service of voodoo-priests, and _actually_ were people drugged into a death-like state, then buried, and dug back up, and "awakened", but still kept drugged, to remain in service of the voodoo-priest. If anyone knows more or better, then do correct me.

RubberyCat yes you are correct but most people or should i say a lot of people follow the lore of george Romero. the Reanimated undead corpses that walk very slowly and eat people. that’s what zombies movies today for the most part. with difference’s here and there. but he did create the “zombie” we know and love today but that wouldn’t have happened without everything you mentioned.

that title is totally a pun off the 28 week/days later, which technically you can and can’t call a zombie movie. it depends on your definition of the term. if you follow the lore by romero than no? those weren’t zombies movies as to my knowledge they did things his zombies didn’t. but as a standard definition if they are reanimated corpses that eat you they’re zombies.

I enjoy watching you partially because we seem to have similar views on how we go into episodes and on spoilers. Of course there are certain kinds of things I don't want to know about ahead of time, like say a main character death, but on the whole when it comes to storytelling it's more about being in the moment and enjoying the ride, and appreciating how it's put together (or picking it apart if necessary). A play-by-play outline is one thing, but there's nothing wrong with seeing a short synopsis of an episode or movie premise ahead of time to get a feel for what you're going into. With other types of mediums like films and books you expect it; who willingly goes into that kind of experience without any idea of whether or not they may like it? And with a TV show you can put yourself into the right mindset for an episode beforehand. I guess the point I'm making is I approve of how you're going about things and you'll never hear complaints from me about having read or seen something small ahead of time (you know, once I get caught up with your work after having just found you and being in the middle of a binge), because you clearly enjoy it all the same.

For most of the zombie part, I honestly thought they were ACTUALLY trying to eat Rainbowdash specifically because she has the same color as the cookies. I think that was the subtle premise of the scene, but not a lot of people bring it up. Maybe I'm just over thinking it. Good episode either way. Not the best, but certainly not the worst and I got a lot of good laughs out of it. A-

Two things. 1) It probably would have killed the mood, but I was partially expecting there to be several shots of the zombie ponies throughout the town with the derpy eyes, and then a shot of zombie Derpy with normal eyes. ALMOST disappointed that they didn't do that. 2) My own in-story logic for why Starlight wasn't included in the prank is that Dash might think she isn't the type to WANT to eat cookies, and Pinkie (or someone else) probably kept her out of it so that it wouldn't tip off Dash that it was a prank.

Well, the Mystery Cure joke was just a whoopie cushion held in the hoof and being deflated without proper use, signifying how much Fluttershy was struggling to get the hang of her props. The actual first fart joke might be when Dash put a horn under Twilight's butt in S4E21.

1. To be fair, no amount of waiting in the world was gonna unhype me for this. It was almost impossible that I was gonna leave this episode disappointed. 5. Yeah, that was epic. The reason people dislike it, is because it goes back to those old roots of Season 1, which while some of it is good, the show has evolved beyond that. With a show reaching it's 6th season.. we would often expect the bar to be set pretty high along with our expectations. The other big reason people don't like it is because it's predictable, however Dr.Wolf pointed this out that it's actually Mare-Do-Well done right. As for me, This episode would've been better if it was like that one episode from Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.. when the actual living dead from across the globe all come to life and gather at Billy's house to get a batch of Cursed Brownies. With Spike being Billy and Bulk Biceps as Hoss Delgato, Discord as Grim, and Scootaloo(or Silver Spoon) as Mandy.

I did get the name though, especially since I've known of the movie since a kid. I even mentioned during my intro thoughts that as soon as I heard the word "zombie" in people's descriptions of the episode, I had a Eureka moment with the title and said "hold the fucking phone" and then got my hopes up that they were going all the way with the concept. "28 Pranks Later" as a title on its own can mean anything, but seeing someone describe the episode with "zombies" made it instantly click.

I loved this episode personally and think it's in the top 10 best of this season, but what would've made it more awesome is if they included either a Rick Grimes or Daryl (crossbow optional) pony from the Walking Dead, a George Romero pony or the main characters in Left 4 Dead and L4D2 in the background. That would've sealed the deal for sure for me and secured in the Top 5 this season for me. But overall, this episode was awesome to watch and was worth the wait! 4.5/5 For me.

The complaints i've heard for this episode is that Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie's pranks were out of character, I disagree while Rainbow Dash did go over the top at time Pinkie's prank was well within her character and something only she could have pulled off. QUESTION: Your art wall did you draw those?

I think I would have liked the episode more if the ending and moral would have been a bit different. It might have been better to have Rainbow just be somewhat irritated at first after the reveal, but then have her burst out laughing and tell everyone what a great and elaborate prank the whole thing was. Basically she should have been a good sport about it and shown them through her reaction how they might have taken things a bit too seriously (which was one of my biggest problems with the episode - honestly, why is everyone suddenly so bothered by these mostly harmless pranks, which I'm sure Rainbow and Pinkie are actually well known for?). They could have still worked in the other moral by simply setting Rainbow up for a moment of realization: "The whole town came together to prank me, because they are apparently fed up with my antics and wanted to teach me a lesson? This must be more serious than I thought!" Ultimately they could have met half way and agreed that yes Rainbow was overdoing it, especially when it comes to ponies like Fluttershy, but at the same time her friends and the other ponies overreacted quite a bit and they should learn how to take a joke, even more so if it's a friend who pranked you.

+Luffyiscool Honestly, I trust your opinion more than I do RarityDash's any day of the week. I know that's rude but the reason why I respect you more as a reactor than a lot of others and why you're is because you take the time to level yourself and your expectations. Even with this episode you were overhyped for zombies yet still calmed yourself down to a reasonable level so wouldn't expect the world from a simple and fun episode. But everyone else seems to be taking this personal, especially RarityDash. I'm seeing claims at how the episode regressed characters greatly and how it was overall terrible. I'm just happy that the negativity is simply more vocal and that many are actually happy about it
