Not only was that Patton's daughter, but his wife was Clear Sky. This mirrored what their family had to go through after Patton's first wife passed away. They reversed the roles for the episode. Glad you had a fun vacation! I like that Snips and Snails seem to have found their calling.

Alice Oswalt is the one in the family who likes MLP, to hear Patton tell it MLP is to Alice as Star Wars is to Patton growing up. Also swap roles of Quibble and Clear and that’s what happened basically when Alices biological mother died.

This is such a sweet episode that boosted Quibble's ranking a lot higher for me. I used to think him kinda meh, but after this, seeing how genuine he was and him really trying to bond with no ulterior motives was just so....HNNNNNNG CUTE FLUFF. I'm a sucker for these sorta stories and to hear the actual story behind this episode just made it one of my favorites.

This is so beautiful when you understand the meta story of this episode. What Patton Oswalt and his daughter went through with their loss, grieving and their finding of another to join their family, it is so nice to see the daughter's once favorite show give a nod to that journey with this tailor-made episode.

My favorite character of his is Remi from Rattitoule. Is that how you spell it? I'm not that good with French spelling, in high school my French teacher made us write to pen pals in France, they wrote to us in English, but we had to write to them in French and I always felt like I was typing something wrong.

Little Alice Oswalt must have been so happy to have done this. I imagine it's every young MLP fan's dream to be in the show. She's been a fan for years, and now she finally got to be in it with her dad and stepmom.

This episode really touched my heart. My parents were always together, so I didn’t experience having step-parents. However, it was sweet anyway, and it really felt wholesome to see Quibble and Wind getting along in the end. :’3

This is a great episode. It's great to see Quibble again. Clear Sky and Wind Sprint are great and present a great conflict. Quibble trying to be athletic is great.

Im so happy that this episode happened i wanted to see Alice oswalt voice a character with her dad but i wasn't expecting the whole family to join in. But i can safely say this episode will forever be remembered as one of my favorite episodes of the series.

Aside from the parts with Rainbow Dash trying to train up Quibble Pants, this sure was a fine episode based on real events. I'm sure by now you've read all the tweets and know that this episode is very much based on the Oswalt family's situation (except the step parent role is reversed), the whole family voiced the family, this being the daughter's first time voice acting ever, and that the designs were designed by the daughter and step mother. The only question now is... Which pegasus died in what "disaster episode"?

Never expected a topic like this in MLP:FiM, but I’m so happy that they did. I really like the story and the lesson. The fact that this basically is Patton’s real family situation with twisted characters and the characters being voiced by his daughter and new wife makes it really deep.

I like it more and more and more upon each viewing. The mature conflict, the circumstances surrounding the episode's creation, the heartfelt execution, etc It all comes together and works really well.

I have theory on why Pinky and Fluttershy are better at Buckball than AJ and Rainbow. Pinky is just straight up faster than AJ and Fluttershy stays put and actually goaltends while Rainbow was prone to dive around the field performing stunt maneuvers

I find it sweet how Quibble Pants tries to impress Wind Sprint, I respect his dedication, but he lost sight of what really matters. He doesn't need to be something else to get Wind to like him, he just needs to be himself, that's what's important.

It took me a while to realize that the video of the episode is not only in a different position but is also a bit stretched out. Is that to avoid copyright in some way?

Yes, but not exactly avoid. It's the way to prevent visual detection, while it's still detected by audio. As a result Hasbro automatically monetizes it right away, and there's no need to wait for several days (or more) for disputes to go through first, because when it was detected by visual content it got blocked worldwide, until Hasbro would review a dispute (then they'd monetize it anyways). It saves time, and Luffy can publish his reactions much faster this way. :)

That's because I always thought it was stupid when people said "buck you" and "bucking" in place of F-bombs in memes and reaction images in the early days of the fandom, so it never stuck with me. I simply don't automatically associate the two words.

I feel the same way with regards to f-word replacement, but I still gotta admit that "bucking" sounds like a pretty good descriptive term for the reproductive act when equines are involved.

@@joshblackwell8632 James Rolfe, from Cinemassacre, said he wasn't going to review the Ghostbusters reboot. Patton Oswalt went to twitter and accused James of being sexist. This led to articles being written spreading the same lie, and James getting threats of violence and death. Oswalt never apologized about this until people called him out on it, and even then, he never apologized directly to James. He only apologized to save face. So fuck him, he's a bacon greased piece of shit
