I don't think anyone can predict luffy real dream is. Most theory i read is not it. To even make zoro nami jinbei disbelief, usopp saying impossible to the point he forbid luffy.

Some people say luffy's dream is just a world wide banquet which if you think sounds dumb (because is just food), funny (because people gonna have fun and enjoy it) and impossible (because all seas are divided). This explains why some members of his crew reacted with a laugh and others thinks is impossible to do.

I dont think the episode kinda said it more obvious enough, King of the pirates ISNT Luffy’s dream, King of the pirates is a stepping stone to his true dream goal! Its whatever he said at the end of the episode, he literally says in the manga chapter “my dream is…” and it cutting it to the crew’s reaction

Honestly people who keep thinking it’s king of pirates forget that luffys dream was pretty much the same as roger. And at that time there was no such thing as king of pirates until Roger himself conquered the grand line.

I think the Luffy dreams is the same things that Roger said to Rayleigh when their first met "I want to turn the worlds upside down" maybe it's possible to do when Luffy gonna be Pirate king beceause it's means be the most powerful pirates (and probably being) and that's why Shanks cried, beceause Roger told his crew his dreams, so Shanks knew, and that's why when in flashback Shanks see Rayleigh before 2 years Shanks said "He said the same words as our captain !", and for me it's the reason too for why Rayleigh cried when Luffy said he's gonna be the pirate king, the most powerful being who can achieve the dreams, for me Roger didn't accomplish is dreams, he go to Raftel for got the Gum gum fruit, but when he saw the gum gum fruit he's not here, he laugh, and said "Joyboy, i'm here too early", interresting theory no ? I have many other points that agree with my theory, but I'm French my English is too limited to explain it lol

It was indeed a surprise that Shakky was a former Kuja Captain & Empress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it wasn't a surprise we're still going to be cliffhanged about what Luffy's dream is once becoming King of the Pirates. The only ones that know what his dream is besides the Straw Hat Crew now are Shanks, Ace, Sabo; AND Yamato (when Ace accidentally let it slip; but at least we know whatever Luffy's dream is, it deeply moved Yamato to tears)

I believe Luffy said something along the lines of "I want to have a huge party with the whole world". And in order to achieve that he will eventually have to destroy the Red Line and enjoin all the seas after becoming the Pirate King. East Blue, West Blue, North and South Blue will eventually become one; All Blue. Sanji will realize his dream as well in the process. I believe this perfectly fits all their reactions. Usopp emphasising how that would be impossible. Robin's shocked face possibly portraying how she connected Luffy's dream to something she read about Joy Boy from the poneglyphs. This is my best guess. Edit: I realized I didn't mention what I thought Luffy said, so I edited to add proper context.

Nah. A kid, who have no clue on politics and geography won't be able to think about that kind of dream. If you want to guess, you have to put yourself in a child's mind. There is a chance that his dream is to have a WORLD BANQUET. As Usopp said, it's impossible however, it may happen IF he becomes the pirate king.

From storyline perspective, Luffy's crew is already completed. For plot convenience, there might be no new member, Oda might not repeating Luffy telling his dream to anyone bcs currently all of his crew knew his actual dream. This episode is telling us that his crew is complete.

I disagree. They've been together a long time and didn't know his dream until now, I can easily see one or two joining the crew and figuring it out later. Remember that the crew heard this much later than Yamato, who hasn't even become an official member yet.

@@ElfoThi I value your opinion. I get that many ppl thinks Yamato will join the crew. Some even hoping Vivi would finally join Strawhats. But that's not the point. . I'm just saying from the storytelling point. It's not abt who knows the dream, it's abt how and when it was told. The timing is the key here, he told all his crew at the same time, during the time which he's supposed to be close to his dream. Both Ace and Shanks was told when Luffy was a kid, and Yamato only knew through a book that stated other people's dream, that being Roger's, which was told by Oden through a journal. There's a storytelling aspect on why Luffy haven't told any of his crew until Jimbei joined. That's the storytelling perspective. Imagine Luffy declare this dream during Whole Cake then fleeing to Wano. Half of his crew wouldn't know about it. Then Oda would have to repeat this scene again in next arc. Nothing wrong with this, but storytelling-wise, this seems messy. . But hey, I could still be wrong and that's ok. We're just sharing our opinions here. Cheers.

I've got this weird idea that Luffy's dreams involve reaching or journeying to the moon. When that happens, the sun god will engage in a final battle with the darkness or shadow of the moon during an eclipse, creating a half-Crescent "D" shape in the moon's shadow. When this happen, the world will be "turning upside down", and the oceans will overflow, breaking down all borders and uniting the seas into a "One Piece." (All blue} Theory-Theory no Mi. 12.30.23. lol

This is going to sound morbid but... I doubt Luffy is going to survive this series. Or rather... I get the feeling Luffy's going to follow Roger to his ultimate fate of execution but also triggering ANOTHER Pirate Era of dreams. That may be Luffy's dream: to create an Era of freedom and dreamers. As for Luffy and Boa... Maybe he'll leave something behind with her. Who knows. It would certainly be interesting. Plus she's probably the only woman who could absolutely defend the child of the next King of the Pirates in a similar way thay Rouge did.

I think the most profound dream and still logic and impossible at the same time, consider Ussop, Nami, Jinbei, Robin and Zoro are people with smart thinker ( logic person ) disberlief, while Sanji, Brook, Franky are more like imaginary person are laughed at Luffy. i THINK this dream can involve in the biggest power that Luffy have that Mihawk spook is that he can make everyone as his ally whether they are enemy or not, so ONE thing for sure his dream must involve at lot of people and can affect everyone after he became a pirate king. So his dream may be to make Navy, world goverment, everyone, all enemy and ally from the beginning so far to be his crewmate or his friends to journey or everyone attend together in a biggest feast so far regardless they enemy or not.

Luffy wants to buy the world, so he can grant everyone's wishes, whether that be freedom, food, wealth or power. It's the most simplest and childish dream I can think of that Luffy wants to achieve. Luffy's treasure tab, Uta's dream, Ace & Sabo's dreams, Otama's suffering, all points to this conclusion.

whatever luffy's dream is, it has to be tied to what joyboy wanted to achieve cause remember luffy is joyboy's successor everything luffy has is the legacy of joyboy so theres a weird force aligning luffy to what joyboy wanted to achieve. if im gonna guess its the removal of anything that opresses freedom could be the destruction of the grand line or could be the liberation of all races anyways the point is, every action thar luffy has done so far aligns to what joyboy did in the past including his philosophies and way of life
