Lufthansa A320 Full Flight - Frankfurt to Birmingham (Airbus A320 Sharklets)

Full length, full flight video from gate to gate onboard Lufthansa Airbus A320 (Sharklets) D-AIUJ, operating flight LH954 from Frankfurt-Main (FRA) to Birmingham (BHX) on 5 February 2015. Every minute of the flight included from gate to gate
The video begins with a bus ride to a remote stand at Frankfurt, getting a great view of aircraft on stands en-route, where we board a nearly new Airbus A320 D-AIUJ via the rear stairs. Once on board we are welcomed onboard, and advised of a delay to our departure. 15 minutes later, we push back from stand and begin our lengthy taxi to runway 07L, taking our place in a lengthy queue for departure. The pilot once again comes on to advise we are number 6 in the queue, which is due to crosswinds restricting them to the use of only one runway at Frankfurt. Soon after however we line up and take off, getting a great view of Frankfurt's terminal as we climb away from the runway.
Once airborne, it's a turn to the left and we soon start to make up time. We climb straight to 38,000ft, flying towards Cologne, making a left turn to fly to the north of Brussels directly over Antwerp, crossing the coast near to Ostend and getting a great view of the shipping traffic in the Straits of Dover. We make landfall directly over Southend on Sea, commencing our descent heading northwest towards Luton, Milton Keynes, and finally a series of sweeping turns over Leamington Spa and Coventry to put us on track for an on-time landing on runway 33 at Birmingham, after a flight time of just 1h10m.

Das Video beginnt mit einer Fahrt mit dem Bus zu einem Remote-Stand auf der Frankfurter, bekommen einen tollen Blick auf Flugzeuge am Stand auf dem Weg, wo wir in einem fast neuen Airbus A320 D-AIUJ über die Hintertreppe. Einmal an Bord werden wir an Bord begrüßt und von einer Verzögerung bis zu unserer Abreise beraten. 15 Minuten später, schieben wir wieder von Stand und beginnen unsere lange Start- und Landebahn Taxi zu 07L unter unseren Platz in einer langen Warteschlange für den Abflug. Der Pilot kommt noch einmal auf, um zu beraten wir die Nummer 6 in der Warteschlange, die durch Seitenwind Beschränkung auf die Verwendung von nur einer Start- und Landebahn in Frankfurt ist. Bald darauf aber wir antreten und ausziehen, bekommen einen tollen Blick auf die Frankfurter Terminal und steigen Sie von der Landebahn.
Einmal in der Luft, es ist eine Drehung nach links und wir bald beginnen, um Zeit aufzuholen. Wir steigen direkt auf 38,000ft, fliegen in Richtung Köln, eine Linkskurve in den Norden von Brüssel direkt über Antwerpen Fliegen, Überqueren der Küste in der Nähe von Ostend und immer eine tolle Aussicht auf den Schiffsverkehr in der Straße von Dover. Wir machen Landfall direkt über Southend on Sea, beginnend unseren Abstieg in Richtung Nordwesten in Richtung Luton, Milton Keynes, und schließlich eine Reihe von Schwünge über Leamington Spa und Coventry, uns auf dem richtigen Weg für eine pünktliche Landung in Birmingham setzen auf die Piste 33 nach eine Flugzeit von nur 1h10m.

+Seans Travel And Planespotting Videos Fantastic, you can pick up flights pretty cheap to AMS and ZRH at least, Madrid a little more but still good value for a day! Good spotting at MAD, you can go to a mound south of the airport and see all the arrivals, lovely warm weather there too :)

Okay, no yawning allowed! Was that you at 1:40.50 aprox? Just kidding. I know when you yawn you've either had a good flight or you're wiped out. Great video. The sound was so-so, but I think that's just because of where you were sitting. I'm just so glad you are still flying. I wondered why there hadn't been any videos in a couple months.

Heather stubbs Haha it was more to do with being wiped out! This was the home leg of BHX-CPH-TXL-FRA-BHX with a busy schedule in TXL too! I've just bought a new mount that should improve the sound quality going forward. And plenty more full flights on the way, with another filming trip at the end of May to include Ukraine, Belarus and Georgia, and a Tupolev 154 :-)

I just wonder if the GoPro has a microphone attachment to make the sound "surround-sound"? That's my main conplaint about the sound, because the GoPro is not known for good sound. Panisonic and Sony make some really nice sounding cameras, and if you put headphones on, you'll really notice the difference. Someone told me you could buy a microphone attachment for the GoPro, but I've never heard that with the GoPro. Thanks.

Heather stubbs You can get a USB mic, but unfortunately it uses the only USB socket, which I need for charging, especially on flights longer than an hour which is all the battery lasts for :-(

What was that strange sound after you parked at the gate?

+TheGamerverse It's the PTU, a pump that transfers the hydraulic fluid to where it's needed for landing gear, flaps, gear doors etc and keeps the pressure up. It's quite noisy on the Airbus, especially when you sit near to the wing (directly above the pump), especially so before engine start, on gear retraction and after landing when the aircraft shuts down and the pump is working hard to keep the pressure up in the absence of the engines :)

Nope I'm in North Notts, about 1:30 from BHX but it's my preferred airport as it's just off the motorway and has a great choice of flights. Always efficient too, unlike my nearest airport EMA which struggles sometimes.
