while the f/a 18 is sexy, we really dont need it. tornados are fine for the ewar and support roles they r used for, n the eurofighter will shoot anything NATO enemies bring to the table out of the sky. we also dont need to project force, so our ground based air defenses will take care of massed invaders. we only really have jets to provide limited international support capabilities and support our small amount of deployed troops world wide. i would still not say no to more planes, but i dont see the politicians going for it any time soon

@@Max-hw7xl I mean we have 181 eurofighter typhoons and 200 tornados, 450 helicopters, 386 total transport aircraft and 120 trainers(a lot of them are fighter trainers). It's enough for Germany, In 2 years they need to start buying F/A 18 Super Hornets because they are better and they are really affordable for Luftwaffe. 200 of those to really replace all the tornados.

Well, according to some KZbin generals, germany only has 2 operational fighters so getting 16 of those to Red Flag is quite impressive;-). Seriously, the actual numbers aren't that bad.
