Most likely due to how the urinary tract in males and women differ. Biologically a woman's urinary tract is much shorter compared to a man's. But its honestly due to the fact our urethra passes through our Prostate gland, which is a muscle that we're able to contract on command with practice and women do not have it. Women have skene glands that aren't able to do constrict like how the prostate gland can. I'm not sure if it's possible, but if a woman does kegel exercises she might be able to control the flow of her urine. Albeit no one should be stopping the flow of their urine like that since you can risk a UTI (urinary tract infection) if you're unlucky.

It depends on what they're testing for. I think there's more density of certain things they're trying to find when it's mid stream. For a normal UA, or drug test, it doesn't matter. However, when I got tested for STD's, they told me to swab my urethra and then only start filling the cup after letting out a good bit of pee first.. I think it can just make certain bacteria/viruses more easy to detect, but as to why I do not know.

To answer it fast, its because the first part of the stream is used to "clean the road", because microorganism/bacteria likes to "climb" from there (one of the main causes why women get UTI, because womens tract is shorter than male, because obvious reasons), so with that the rest of the urine that go into the container will not affect the results of the exam (as obtaining the sample with the first part of the stream could contaminate the sample).

in the beginning, the pee will contaminated a little by the tip of our genital, so it's not suggested to take it. for the end of the stream, i honestly kinda forgot but i think it's maybe because the end of the stream is just residue of our pee, so it's containing less material than it should be and it can effecting the end result, sorry if i make mistake

It's so the sample doesnt have the bacteria that will stay on the outside of the urethra and instead have the sterile urine from the bladder itself (unless you actually have a urine infection)
