I can’t agree more. I think Ceci covered the song as a whole level of angst, especially with the Spanish language. It makes a song sound aggressive and cool. As a fellow Latina myself it’s like this song has a whole new meeting with a Latina covering the song. It’s like the level of girl power will also add a fresh spin to the original song. In my opinion, she helped uniquely elevate the song, and that’s what an ideal cover song should do.

Jaja està chido. Me acuerdo cuando escuche a ST por primera vez. Era 1986. Y de repente, en 1987 , PUM, Masacre 68 fusilandose los riffs. Ojo, ya habia bandas de punk, pero la que despuntó fue masacre 68 , también atoxxxico, pero más masacre. Y todos, en el escaso underground mexicano : 'puta, qué chingona música , solo podría pasar en UK o EU ' ; sin embargo , si no fuese por México no existiría el punk. Así es, la primer banda en el mundo de PUNK fue hecha por músicos mexicanos , pero nacidos en EU. (Gringos por tramite) Question Mark and the mysterians fue la primer banda catalogada como punk music . Así es, somos el papi de la música punk, aunque le arda a los que se sienten creadores del género .

The vocals being so different and on a different key than, what sounds to be like almost the same exact same instrumentals used in the original ST song, makes the song to be a little jarring. But i got an acquired taste for it after a a minute or 2. Another thing is the original had a LOT of screaming, and there was no screaming in this. It makes people all pissy that the instruments sound exactly the same, but the delivery on vocals so different. Vocal delivery couldve definetely been better. But ceci's own music is great, and has more of a pop feel to it. Her lyrics provide a sad glimpse of cultural violence and greed, sometimes delivered with catchy and upbeat sounds, a contrast that really sends a message in itself.
