The artical actually DID have beta images of the Safari Room despite the fact that it came out after the Japanese version of the game. It also alluded to said boss ghost, but it was most likely just flavor text and wasn't a reference to something that was actually planned to be in the game. The rumor always had merrit. It was just a rumor founded on a theory rather than hard facts.

Even I remember knowing about the Safari Ghost rumor before watching Chugga's Let's Play and I watched it when he was uploading new episodes of it. Luigi's Mansion has been my favorite game for as long as I can remember, so I did a lot of reading back then. I agree that he did contribute to popularizing the rumor though.

Keep in mind this is from the Mario Wiki, but this might be the origin for the hunter ghost rumor: A comment in the October 2001 issue of Nintendo Power referring to a "ghost of a hunter" who would "want to add Luigi to his collection" led several people to incorrectly assume that a hunter-themed portrait ghost had once existed in the game before being cut for being too violent. However, due to the magazine being released after the game's Japanese release, this seems to be merely flavor text.

Personally, I believe that it was just flavor text, but I have to point out that the fact that the Japanese release came before the artical doesn't really mean anything. The artical actually has an image of the beta Safari Room, so it's possible that the artical really is refering to a beta boss ghost. Like I said, I personally believe it was just flavor text, but it IS still possible that the ghost existed.

Regarding bee stings, the Schmidt Pain Index was made to evaluate how painful insect stings were. Honey Bees scored a 2/4, and their sting was described as "burning and corrosive, but you can handle it". For comparison's sake, a sting from a tarantula hawk (which scored 4/4) was described as "A running hair dryer has been dropped into your bubble bath. A bolt out of the heavens. Lie down and scream."

I've had this joke in my head for the past few days so I'll just let it out now: COVID-19 (Saying the V word is a KZbin No-No) was actually created by a corporation similar to something some super maniac tries to use in the Spider-man game for PS4. Which means this is all the fault of Oscorp what with their experiments conducted on spiders that can give people super powers. ...Now I'm just imagining COVID-19 giving the people it infects super powers and now we wind up with a global version of Spider Island, which I still need to buy and read....later, probably one of my next purchases off Amazon after this pandemic eventually gets under control. In the mean time I'll have to sustain my reading of web-swinging heroics with volume 2 of the complete collection of the stunning Spider-Girl, not that I'm complaining.

I'll be honest, Chugga might be getting Tim to do the cheese golden mice during the black-out event. He's had misinformation in the past, wouldn't put it past him to forget a few other small details. I think Emile is just really distracted or doesn't want Tim to miss anything. Either that or this is a new recording session since Pikmin and Chugga just really got a bit more anal about doing everything in the way he would do things in a game.

Regardless, maybe it’s Colosseum 2 fatigue like with the ALttP blind LP, but they didn’t really show that during MP8. At any rate, it’s all just speculation until Emile can confirm it himself.

I thought I never had an allergy either, Emile. But 3 days before my first trip outside Canada (to Philly). I woke up at 1am with lots of pain and hives. I thought it was bedbugs and threw away my perfectly good matress. Turns out, two days before the hives showed up, I was bitten by a yellow and black striped spider on some railroad tracks. Thankfully my doctor prescribed me allergy medication and my hives went away faster than a bird during winter.

To Chagga's credit he wasn't the origin of the rumor. The "Safari Room Ghost" was always a myth but it didn't start with Chagga, it started with a Nintendo Power Magazine in the United States that implied that there was a safari room ghost. Chagga most likely popularized it but he wasn't the source of it.

Bee story time... I was never stung by a bee until I was 17. That summer my family went to Dinsey's Hawaiian hotel, Alani, which had a waterpark. One day I was stepping out of the hot tub and I felt a stinging pain on my foot. I stepped on a bee and in response it stung me. It wasn't too bad though. Towards the end of the trip I decided to film the innertube water slide with my fathers gopro and to be safe I attached the yellow floating handle in case I lost it. A bee saw the bright yellow and proceeded to investigate it while I started to go down the slide. In the recording you can faintly hear me say, "what is that," as I grab my hand before reeling back and saying, "ow, ow, a bee."

Never been stung by a bee (for now!) but bee stings are the least of your concern. It's the wasp stings you need to worry about because they can sting more than once! They're one of nature's many, many jerks - among silverfish, fire ants, mosquito and midges. Bees don't tend to sting unless they're intimidated or you're near their hive, which is why they need to be relocated safely in some instances. Same goes for wasps too but they're more quick to anger.

When I was little I was allergic to applesauce. According to stories from my family I've heard I'd get a rash and hives and all that. As I got older I wasn't allergic to applesauce but cinnamon instead. Just a faint whiff can make me sneeze continuously for a good couple of minutes. So while I don't have any serious allergies I can say as someone with basic allergies they aren't fun.

Tim's close call at 3:44 gave me an idea for the next step in Luigi's Mansion gameplay: Perfect...flashes? Perfect...stuns? Perfect...strobes? I can't think of a good name without an innuendo for it, but basically you would just do more damage or your attack meter would fill more quickly if you flash a ghost right before it attacks. This would work great for 1v1 encounters, but the mechanic would be balanced out since it wouldn't be ideal to use it in a situation where you're surrounded by lots of ghosts.

You can use water to defuse bomb ghosts. Ice is completely ineffective and fire will detonate them immediately but it's more effective and less damaging to just use water against them. Also Tim, in order to effectively suck up ghosts, you have to point the control stick in the opposite direction of the ghosts movement. You will only take damage and lose your grip if you do anything else.

At 10:12 and this was recorded before Xenoblade Chronicles remaster was announced by the way. When that Bionis' Shoulder was brought back to the game and Emile already covered cut content in his lp of Xenoblade it made me think about how will he do it if Bionis' Shoulder became part of the story of Xenoblade.

Does Emile know what a Dragonfly is? They're huge and they also don't sting (can bite though), you can't crush one with your eyelid. Damnselflies are smaller dragonflies, basically, but still too big to crush with your eyelid. I really want to know what insect he crushed with his eyelid.

I remember Emile telling that same Dragonfly story in an episode of Dokapon Kingdom. I also have that same fear of bees and bee stings as a daughter of a mother with an allergy to bee stings. I have never been stung by a bee either, but I think I have been stung by a wasp. Another kid on my school bus had handed me my scarf that I had almost left there, and I didn’t see the wasp on it, and as I grabbed the scarf, the wasp stung my finger and flew away

I've gotten stung by 3 bees on three separate occasions. The most recent was a few weeks back, and was on my foot. The one before that was a few weeks prior right above my right eye. And the first was when I was five, and laying on my stomach with my dad's window open... The place that bee stung was VERY unforgiving for a few hours. All of these times, the sting swelled the surrounding area up, and when you like walking around, or being able to see... Or sit properly... Not a good thing. Even worse when you realize my grandfather owns a honey farm (bees definitely included) right behind my house....

Emile, if you somehow happen to see this. If you ever do get stung by a bee, clean the puncture lightly and hold a piece of white or yellow onion to it. It really helps to lessen the pain and helps to stop the nerve firings caused by the bee's venom.

About the fake boss ghost - funny story. I went on the Okami Wiki to look for something relating to the final boss of the game, Yami. Whilst I'm reading the page, there's a small bit of text about editing the page basically saying "Chuggaconroy is *not* considered a source of information for this wiki. I completely forgot about it until this moment and I'm just laaaaaughing.

Nintendo power actually did and probably tricked you friend to, if you look on the Mario wiki’s list of rumours it says: *The rumor originates from Nintendo Power's October 2001 issue: the issue included a preview of Luigi's Mansion, which featured a screenshot of an earlier build of the Safari Room with the caption "When your ghoul-busting mission takes you to the trophy room, proceed with caution. If you meet up with the ghost of a hunter, he'll want to add Luigi to his collection." The caption was likely an attempt at hyperbole rather than a serious indication that a game hunter-themed ghost was in the game, as the article was written after Luigi's Mansion's Japanese release, long after such a character would've been considered and cut from the game.*

I feel Chugga's sentiment. Never been stung by a bee in my 20 years. Have no idea if I'm allergic. It's come to the point where even though I don't want to be stung, I kind of will make bee's angry intentionally if I can. Like yesterday I was doing some yard work, a bee landed on my pants, I flicked it onto the grass and then just sort of messed with it using a shovel. Didn't kill it, but I think it might have somehow just been having fun. I don't know. It's interesting - I have a fear of what could happen but still don't mind provoking it. Maybe they know how many times I've seen Bee Movie
