I currently work in a Deli. It's not a glamorous job in the least, but I try every day to make customers laugh, get them exactly 1.00 lbs of shaved turkey, macaroni salad, etc, and if we should be out of something I try to do right by them offering a break in price on an alternative. Again, it's not a glamorous job, but it satisfies me to know that the regulars who come in (tends to be the 60+ demo) multiple times a week or even per day, might not have much social interaction outside of getting their groceries and gas where I work. Love giving suggestions on what cheeses pair great with which meats or what salads we have pair well with grilling, too. Always trying to give 51% in the interaction each day at work. That's easily been my biggest takeaway from your content Gary.

The value you can get out of any job in the world is 'hard work'. I worked in a deli for years and was 3x faster than anyone else. And working well under pressure and managing a team directly relates to my career now. If anything regular jobs can help keep your basic work skills honed so you are ready when you transition to something else.

My entire teenage and adult life has been jobs that I don't want to do, but I needed money. Then I got married and had kids and I took whatever would give me enough to support my family. I'm terrified that if I venture out to do what I love, that I won't be able to support them. Then I started following GaryVee and decided to get a second job in a super low level, BUT in the industry I'm passionate about. I am learning it inside and out so when my time comes, I will be ready to attack and win! Thank You Gary. And Thank You Luis for sharing your heart and PASSION!

Love Luis!! ❤️❤️ Hey Gary & Luis I was a teacher and hated my job, pay, stress level etc. stayed for the benefits and safety of a paycheck. I hit 40 and could not take another day and QUIT to sell Real Estate! In a year I've doubled my salary and will quadruple it by the end of the year. I've never been happier! I also appreciate the Cold Calling. Ive built my business off of FSBO's and then referrals. Converting a FSBO to a listing is a great feeling. Thanks guys! Cheers! 🍾

What the f....I swear to the good lord above that the first time I watched Million Dollar Listing on Bravo and now here in NZ, we just got the Bravo channel so it's all new to me. But when I watch that show, I was drawn to Luis. I noticed his passion, his drive, his connection with people. Sure he never sold the most like Ryan does but the way he does what he does is infectious and I often use Luis' catch phrase around the house "GENIUS..BOOM!" so to see him on Gary V and talk about the things that I already knew of him is just pure energy and truth. Love it!

I thought I would be happy as a stay at home mom. I'm 37, married for 15 years, and have a family. What I've realized is that there is more that I want. I am actually working on three of my dreams as we speak. I'm enrolled in an online photography course, taking night classes for cosmetology school, and have scheduled my real estate license exam just earlier today to get my real estate license. I finished the required courses and passed them 7 or 8 years ago and have let life get in the way of getting my license exam taken.

So much good out of this. I was just talking about the professional v. personal with my cousin last night. The self awareness conversation was awesome, totally related. Tapping out at being on top and being the best at all you do and being the best "you". That's priceless. All of these points! You also touched on living out the passion within, helps you find happiness and purpose. I find myself on the same journey. Encouraged by the truth shared on this show. I had never even heard of Luis Ortiz but I enjoyed his vibe. I just learned about Gary Vaynerchuk recently and find a smile when I think some of our crazy matches. Thanks for the video guys!

QOTD: I currently work at a desk job and before that I was an officer on submarines. I didn't/don't enjoy either of those jobs. The desk job has a better work/life balance but no job satisfaction whereas the submarine job was the complete opposite. I enjoy interacting with people and helping people better their lives specifically through health and nutrition. I am definitely making steps towards leaving the jobs security of jobs I dislike for that passion. I've started a KZbin channel and am now doing online coaching, so it is only a matter of time before I take that next big step. Owe a lot of it to motivation and inspiration from GaryVee!

Absolutely love this episode! Without question, I would agree that self-awareness is the key. And I think that 1 hugely important attribute that self-awareness has is that it allows you to understand your emotions, without which, you'll never be able to understand the path you want to go in life, or as Gary would say, you won't be able to follow your "North Star". So that when things do go bad, you're more able to identify the problem and sort it out, like with Luiz Ortiz's decision to change his career.

Luis & Gary, Boy did this episode connect with me!! I am definitely 1 of the MOST. Luckily for me I went to college & Graduated in a creative field (Architecture) that I enjoyed academically so i am well trained and good at my job. But for the last 5-6yrs I've become increasingly aware that i am Unhappy with this profession and its ability to satisfy my creative urges. Consequently I am super eager for venture into another creative filed where I feel I can maximize my creative capacity (Marketing, Advertising, Branding) unfortunately in lack of formal education, experience or credentials i cant make the jump, and in lack of funds i cant enlist in a post graduate program to pursue this new interest. So for the time being I come to work, do my job, save my pennies in the hopes that in a couple more years i will have enough to go to school to do what I love. Any advise From you brilliant and successful gentlemen (& the vainer Nation) will be greatly appreciated. Thank You

This is crucial, to know what you u wanna do or what u don't wanna do and find out what makes u upset in your daily routine, Luis is fortunate to find out and to be able to be financially independent in a certain level that he can do some soul searching..most people just switch off their conscience and just go to work and to the same thing over and over..I just was taken by surprise on the Ny real estateshow when he explained why he would leave, it somehow gives you the answer that it's only about the money it's about challenge, Succes and than you find happiness..
