@@diceyalt3469 Billy had a torn Iris and permanently blurred vision after that match. Resto not only had the pads removed from his gloves but also plastered his hand wraps basicaly hitting his opponent with stones. Billy against all odds refused to go down. I think it is safe to assume he sustained brain damage. According to interviews with this family he wasnt the same Billy after. Ofc with permantently blurred vision and headaches and stuff he couldnt get a job and he couldnt continue boxing. So at the end of the day the deeds of Resto indirectly lead to the death of this poor kid who had a pristine win-lose ratio with many K.Os at the age of 21. Had a wife and a kid and everything could have been wonderful for him if this pos opponent didnt decide to cheat. Make no mistake Resto with those gloves and plastered handwraps could have kill him in the ring. He should have been charged for attempted murder instead of assault and posession of deadly weapon. I hope Resto didnt get much money for his interviews and crocodile tears. He should never be allowed into any boxing establishment imho. If I'd life at the place he mentioned here I might go there to protests against him. This pos Resto is the exact opposite what boxers and kids need as an example. Billy was a true champion by his achievements.

Collins could accept defeat, but not an end to his career. From one man to another, there is nothing worse than stealing another mans ability to earn a living for himself and provide for his family. Without that we're nothing. Or at least we feel that way, in part, because society deems it to be what a mans worth is measured by. The tragedy of this loss for Collins literally meant the end of his life. I don't know how I feel about Resto. It's despicable what he's done. But he has shown genuine remorse, tried to meet the family to apologise, and for that he deserves minimum recognition. The only thing I have issues with is his confrontation with the "mastermind" Panama Lewis. No doubt that guy is responsible and pulled all the strings, but Resto was a grown adult and his answer to what Panama wanted him to do should have always been "NO, I'm not doing that". Psychologically it also gives him something or someone else to blame. He needs to own it 100%. For his own sake. Forget Panama Lewis. He's just the serpent.

In 2007, Resto made a tearful apology to Collins-Nile for his role in the scheme. He also admitted that his hand wraps had been soaked in plaster of Paris before the fight. This caused them to harden into plaster casts like those used to set broken bones. The hand wraps were never confiscated and did not figure into the official investigation of the tampering incident. However, the combined effect of the plaster casts and unpadded gloves meant that Resto was effectively striking Collins with rocks

You are responsible for your own actions. He admitted to what e did and confesses that he did the same at least two times earlier. He got caught that is the only reason he feels bad. He indirectly killed that kid. Who was hitting Billy with essentialy stones in his gloves? Not his trainer..

After Margarito's incident with the plastered handwraps, he lost a lot of respect not just from hardcore boxing fans, but he also lost respect from many Mexicans. I'm Mexican and he was one of my favorite fighters at that time, but I didn't look at him the same anymore. It doesn't matter if he wasn't a big deal in Puerto Rico, he did something illegal and put his opponents life in dager(even though boxing is dangerous in general), it doesn't look good on his part. It also doesn't matter if the guy was a bum or if he wasn't World class fighter, he is the same as Margarito because they both did something illegal that could risk their opponents life even more. This is a professional sport, so I believe things should be done in a fair way.

+phillymuniz youre right, you guys ride or die for each other and thats why yall support margarito to this day. Even if he cheated he still brought glory to mexico. A win is a win. Its like crossing the border, who gives a fuck if yall go to the states legal or ilegal, you guys are there and thats whats matter. Same mentality with boxing, cheating or not its the same for yall. VIVA MEXICO CABRONES!!

He gave info to that later cause be felt everyone already knew about the glove tampering so he might as well give the hand wrap details too. Had he not said anything no one would've even known about that particular detail.

DupeVision they sure ruined Collins career and should've served a longer time in jail, but drug and drinking was Collins own problem. If I get depressed for losing my career job, it doesn't give me the excuse to beat my wife up get in my car and drive drunk as shit while endangering others like kids and speeding to my own death. Just saying, grown people have to take responsibility.

I want him to be happy and do good in his life he’s suffered enough and it’s professional sports not life and death. He is 56 and look 90?!!! Man, that's why I walk straight with karma, look at him! That's all karma doing it's work!( Thank God because human justice can sometimes forgive your wrong doing, specially if you have enough money, but you never scape the Divine justice!).. How different are you? How do you talk to kids about drugs when you clearly seem to be high as a kite?!!!! ... I'm so angry at this guy because he knew what he had in his gloves, seen the damage he was causing to this young man and still went all the way!! It does not take a genius to know and notice that what you did could cause serious harm or even death to this other boxer. Wow, this to me is like the movie " Lion King" He was no match for Billy, so he did everything in his power to win even if it meant to let someone die or just kill him ( I'm not convinced that he did not mean to do it) actions speak louder than words and people would do messed up things like that to be victorious..I think he needed to do a lot more prison time!
