I don't think your spatula is any better than the scissors from the German video... so I'll definitely send you a letter opener 🤣! I was very mean 😂, but I also had an expectation 😜 and I knew that you will make something nice out of the parts! I hope you didn't inhale that when you melted the dragonfly! 🙈 I think you did a great job with the swap! It turned out beautifully! 😊 I think it was allowed to use the card, I'll let that slide! I'm glad you worked both swaps into the journal! 💚 I was touched by your words again 🫶! I'm already sorry that so much went wrong 🤭. Forgive me 😘! Love Nicole

Luise, your creativity never ceases to amaze me. Ironing the squishy material was so clever and shrinking the dragonfly was terrific. My opinion (for what it's worth) is that if you're not happy with a project, then you have to change the requirements (I don't like "rules" in crafting) to produce works that please you. That's what crafting or any kind of art is all about. Bringing pleasure, both to you and those who observe it. I think you did a fantastic job with this challenge. ❤

Definitely not a challenge fail. It’s not a school exam, it’s a crafting challenge for something you want to make beautiful & keep. And you succeeded at that! Plus it’s just so nice to see Nicole’s gorgeous journal again. And so well done shrinking the dragonfly & incorporating all the elements. I did wonder how you were going to make the squishy stuff fit & you, of course, came up with a solution I’d have never ever thought of. I wonder how it would look if it was painted with acrylic paint then melted 🤔 & think a little gold foil would have been perfect when your splatters weren’t visible enough.

Luise, I am not amazed at your creative genius. I expect the genius. And I knew you would not be happy with it if you didn't add white splatter. Love love love it. I am getting to know so well how and why you do what you do. I am always so inspired by you. I was hoping you would use the glaze once you melted the dragonfly, and you did. Ironing the packaging material was also a thought I had and you did it. I only wish my tries would work as well as yours do. :) Now rules...who doesn't break rules? Why not...when such beauty results? There should be no rules with creativity...it does not work at all? So, stepping outside the guidelines of your limitations is acceptable to be creative, unique and genius. You, Luise, are all that!! Not a fail in my eyes. Thankyou for sharing

Awesome process to get to the place where you are pleased with the results. Heating the dragonfly and the wrap for shipping fruit is genius. My fear is the toxins that may float in the air of your studio. MY thought was to use alcohol ink and cut the foam into tiny pieces and make a stamen for your flower. You are still the reigning Queen of your craft. I’m so pleased that you are now on Tim Holtz design team. Look out Tim here SHE comes. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦

Another wonderful challenge met, Luise. I don’t think you cheated. Luise, I'm glad you took artistic license and used the journaling card. It IS your journal, so you can. As for not being able to put a video out if it’s something you aren’t proud of; I completely understand. But at the same time I wonder if you feel more pressure to make sure it’s something you’re proud because you feel people you look up to in the art/journaling community may see that work? My point in mentioning this is with your best interest in mind, and to encourage you to feel zero pressure. It was them who came to you. They loved your work when you didn't know they even saw it, and you had fun with it. I’d encourage you to put any of those pressures out of your mind and just have fun. That’s what attracted them to your work in the first place. Any time it becomes more of a job than fun, it becomes not as worth doing. It would be so sad to see you sacrifice your hobby to that. You’re the best crafter. I SO enjoy your creative process!!!

Hey.... while reading this comment there are so many thoughts flying through my head. First of all: you seem to know me really, really well! Yes, you're right. I had pressure. But your interpretation of WHY isn't totally the reality. I had to record that video/create that piece before I went to holiday. It was one of the last things I had to do. And I think the pressure came with having not so much time for that. Nicole, my swap partner, became a very good friend in the meantime and I wanted to make something special with her items in the journal she gave me. And I also think, what I see in front of me is not the same than you as my viewers see ... That's a weird thing, isn't it? Nevertheless you're totally right, it should be fun. I HAD fun even if you couldn't see it as clearly as I could. Hope that makes sense. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment!

@@luiseheinzlOh, Luise, I’ve seen you struggle more than one time. If you could always be happy in your art, then art is a good thing. And then we viewers are a good thing for you, to enjoy you, to support you. I wish you peace. I think of my husband’s sister who just found out she has terminal brain cancer. My wish for her (and the family) is that she can find peace in every day. No matter OUR struggles, they tend not to be brain tumors. So we should choose peace. Always peace and love. Be happy.

Reading several comments, I see I was not alone in feeling uncomfortable with the process. You’re a free spirit who probably should not [compete] in challenges. You don’t seem very comfortable with rules and limitations. I often wonder why artists subject themselves to projects that may limit their freedom to create. I also felt bad for your partner in this challenge who had to see you so unhappy. Holy crap and jeez Luise, where did the fun go? And … always remember: this is NOT life or death. What’s the worst that can happen? Answer: it won’t be your favorite page. Into each life some rain or blobs of Peeled Paint will fall. I luv ya, Luise. Go now and have some fun. 💕

Not that you need our comments to make what you’ve done “OK“ but… I did have a couple of thoughts myself as I was watching. First of all, you struggled through those five items pretty laboriously (it’s not like you didn’t try!) and I totally agree that you should enjoy, and like the end result as much as the process/challenge. I also feel like you are OK as far as the rules go because you actually pulled that card from the journal that you’re actually working in so in my opinion, you haven’t really added anything from the “outside”.
