After just three years in the NBA, Luka Dončić has already established himself as a generational talent. And his huge increase in step-back jumpers, both inside and outside the arc, have made him nearly unstoppable on the offensive end. In this episode of Signature Shots, ESPN analyst Kirk Goldsberry examines how Dončić gets these step-backs and why they are so important in the broader context of the Dallas Mavericks’ offense and the NBA at large.

@@AZ-pm7hy I get what u saying and never said what’s cp3 is doing isn’t impressive and unguardable but If you played basketball u know the Step back from 3 point land are more harder and impressive to make than one from free throw line and so on. For me what dame, Steph, luka and harden are doing are ridiculous, there are lot more players who does it but not the same consistency and level to those. Not to take anything away from cp3, I actually love the midrange game more especially players like, demar, cj, booker & shai but those 4 when it’s comes to step back 3’s are next level

True, but the NBA still ain't a joke ahha. The players are wayyy more capable even at defence than we can imagine. The Eurocup focuses on defence as a team, which makes it harder to score there. Going ISO against the best defenders in the NBA is just like doing the same anywhere else.
@aubinaps1427
@aubinaps1427 2 жыл бұрын
@@jaizjeeson2180 yes I agree. Although, NBA changed the rules to advantage the offense. We've seen the gather step super interpretative rule, the step 0 which basically allow huge travels, the défense clearing the center and the use of the offhand (allowing small push off). Also, you can do some small hand check in FIBA and huge bumps which would be called directly in NBA :)

I appreciate Luka's stepback more than others because it's not even close to a travel. Like Harden often travels with his stepback (I know what a gather step is but some of them were absolutely travels and most of them were at least close), but there's no arguing Luka travels at all with his stepback.

While some players simple look for the foul, when he does that, Luka focuses a lot more on making the basket. Not to mention he's hitting those circus shots a lot more often than other players. i really think theres some psychic ability in ultimate offensive players in sports, they have a feel for the other players around them and what theyre going to do, they just manipulate them, play them like puppets to their benefit, they make them move where they want and they do it without thinking about it. this type of stuff has to be some type of precognition psychic ability. the zone/flowstate amplifies it.

It's already his. It's just a formality for Lebron to pass the torch. He's playing with the best defensive team in the league like they can't do anything to him. Only reason he's lost twice to them is because his team isn't doing enough to help him.
