Its funny that all these "analysts" point out issues in the Mavs offense as if that's the problem. Things like "playing faster" would help the Mavs, yet the problems have always been the defensive side, with or without Luka Doncic on the court. The Mavs set up to allow the mid range and try to defend the 3 aggressively. The problem is that the Mavs allow easy cuts in the mid post and that puts tons of pressure on any big that plays. Luka is slow to react in these situations but he isn't the only one. Luka defends more like a 4 and usually stays on the weak side of any given opposition attack. It also allows him to grab relatively easy defensive rebounds.

I don't agree with this assessment on Luka at all. Absolutely he makes other players better, without question. He's the best passer In the NBA in my opinion, he involves other players and definitely makes them better, anyone that says he doesn't doesn't know what they're talking about. He is the most skilled basketball player I've ever seen, he's the most productive player I've ever seen, and I've never seen a player as good at so many things, great actually. Think about it, he's a great scorer, one of the best we've ever seen in the game, in my opinion he's absolutely as good of a score as Jordan was or anyone else. He's also an amazing playmaker, incredible passer, He can finish at the rim, he can step back and hit a three, he can make a one hand floater in the lane, he's a clutch player, he's a fantastic rebounder, he does it all. He should be getting nothing but praise, he's one of the very best players this game has ever seen, to be trashing him and putting him down is absolutely ridiculous. I just saw him manhandle the Golden State Warriors on December 30th in San Francisco, it was unbelievable what he was doing that game, but all anyone wants to talk about is what the Warriors didn't do to stop him, nobody talks about the great plays that he makes, it's just very sad. I agree with shumpert that he is not as athletic as LeBron, but as you can see he doesn't need to be. Whatever he lacks athletically he makes it up with his craftiness, his fakes, his instincts, are of Larry Bird caliber, the honest truth is that he is Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan all in one player. He has the skills of all three of these players in one, he has Larry Bird's craftiness but he takes it a step further with his ball handling, quickness to the basket, ability to finish without anyone passing him the ball. Bird had to have the ball passed to him, Luka does not need that. If you compare Luca to magic he can do everything magic did except he is a better scorer & rebounder. If you compare him to Michael Jordan, Luka is a better ball handler, a better three-point shooter, a better rebounder and a much better passer. Scoring is about the same, I give the edge to Jordan because of his athleticism, but Luka is more crafty, He just has more in his package than any other player I've seen.

Luka should have gotten the same hype that Wemby did, if not more. Because Luka was MVP of the Euro League and Euro League champion. The Euro League is the second-best league in the world. Yet everyone acted like the Euro League was filled with middle schoolers who didn't know how to play. Wemby was playing in like the 7th best league in the world and he did not accomplish anything near as much as Luka did. But because he was athletic everyone all of a sudden forgot all the hate they had for European players. The same negativity they had for Luka did not exist for Wemby.
