In Taiwan, Philippines, China, Japan etc., they even sign washed up NBA players and once they visit the country they are instant heroes or celebrities. Check their local leagues their fans are crazy. In Europe it became bigger because there are a lot of NBA superstars like Luka, Giannis, Jokic and other european players who have millions and millions of fan base. Ratings are down because there are a lot of illegal live stream sites you can visit. Once I went to a wedding and during reception there are a lot of people watching on their phones in facebook live and there are 50k viewers. Thats -50k cable watchers instant and that livestream is illegal so it is not counted in ratings

But then you use the same kind of flawed logic using the coverage of a single trade as some kind of proof that the NBA is healthier than ever or something. If you are saying an NFL trade wouldn’t be able to generate this kind of coverage does that mean the NBA is more popular than the NFL now? Is that what you’re saying?
