I really like that you take that moment to really analyze flavor. waiting until it has been chewed and swallowed. The anticipation kills me haha but its so worth it. Most people spew bullshit the second food hits their mouth (think of a rad frosted tipped hedgehog haired gentleman) which makes it hard for me to watch those facetious reviews/shows.

Thanks Jacob! Yeah I can't watch people review things who aren't actually giving it thought. From all the videos I've made, I've found that a lot of the hype around what fruit tastes like is simply not true.

First love the channel I had many rare fruits myself. I have to say though I have a strange immunity to the durian smell. To me a durian smells like fresh lumber. It has a brief onion smell when first opened. That depletes rather quickly. I even tried to dry out the shell to keep it and thats when people I know told me it smelled, but I walked up to the 'stinky' black durian shell and it still smelled like lumber to me. I guess it doesn't effect everyone the same way. I love the taste and texture even the slight stringy feel it sometimes has. There is also just a mild onion aftertaste but its interesting rather than bad. Your channel is great I use it to show friends fruits I have had. Please keep up the wonderful work.

Thats a pretty unusual looking Kutejensis...usually they're not quite so oblong. I didn't realize you were not a fan of durian! Kutejensis tastes pretty different than durian...haha I don't like it!
@WeirdExplorer8 жыл бұрын
Hey Lindsay! I found this one at the Sunday market in Miri. An old man had 3 of them on a blanket and that was all he was selling. It probably was one from his own tree, which might explain why it looks different. Later on I saw some of the vendors on durian street in Kuching selling ones that were rounder and about half the size. The taste was about the same though. That's funny that you don't like kutejensis for the same reason I do. I don't dislike durian, but I have a weird relationship with it. I understand why its good and enjoy it in small doses, but I haven't entirely acquired the taste for it. Its like eating a really stinky cheese.
@YearoftheDurian8 жыл бұрын
+Jared Rydelek Yeah, it is funny right?! Im pretty sure I could set you up with a durian Z. you would like now that I know your flavors. Kutejensis is also quite a bit lower in fat than normal durian, only 10% by calorie rather than around 30% for normal durian. I think some people prefer the lighter flavor/texture, as well as its fruitier profile :)
@WeirdExplorer8 жыл бұрын
+Year of the Durian - We Travel For Durian Well I'm eagerly awaiting the day you to introduce me to the durian z of my dreams. That's interesting about the different fat contents. I don't mind fatty fruits, but I do like how easy the kutejensis is to take.
