When I heard this song I did not know the reason or the meaning behind it. For me it took on a whole different shape. Currently, in my life, the only man I've ever really respected and loved enough to call my daddy is dying. Days go by, weeks, sometimes only hours when we see the changes in him. It is so hard, because I never really had a dad before him. I'm not ready to lose him yet. But at the same time, I'm so tired of watching him in pain that I feel guilty when I wish it was all over for him, in the heartache and struggle for my mother, too.
