Someone said in the comments he didn't get the recognition he deserved.. Leon was in the music scene for over 60 yrs. in ALL kinds genre's.. He was inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame and Song writers hall of fame. His recordings earned six gold records. He received two Grammy awards from seven nominations. Leon Russell created more music for others' than he did himself. Look up Leon's add'l works.. he played and produced SOoo many .. worth the read.

What a beautiful rendition.... Willie, you are a legend and will always be, and in the most respectful way possible, I have to say your son's voice shines that little bit better. He has the ability to take the song and not only make it his own, but he speaks right to your very soul by his tonation, his perfect pitching and the little something extra that has and the listener becomes involved emotionally and spiritually. I know I am going on a bit, but the bottom line.....I could just listen to this man all day. He has got me through this lockdown and made it lighter for me. He's my go to artist now!

There are so many things I love about your singing - great breath support to sing a slow, extended phrase, a well placed voice with resonance, and a soulfulness that touches my heart and makes my eyes well up with tears. I love seeing the offspring of a great talent who has it also, and then some, instead of being a shadow of the parent. I hear your father in your voice and your own lovely individuality. Beautiful. My Dad used to sit for hours, back in the day, those Willie Nelson days...lol...sit in our dimly lit living room, a drink of bourbon and water in one hand, a cig in the other...listening to Old Leon....uh, and those Doobie Brothers got some songs in there, too, (although Dad preferred bourbon to doobie)....Dayng, your sound is so pure and smooth, 'specially as I listen to some crickets of my own and the sound that wind rushing through those trees that frame this lake. I have a brother who's 10 years younger then me. for my birthday one year he gave me the signatures of the Doobie Brothers because he had met them while on his job. He remembered I used to sing their songs while I was doing the dishes as a kid. I thought that was an awesome gift
