Annihilation Survivor

She was born in the Borysław ghetto as Lili Fuchsberg, but she stayed there for a very short time. When things started getting dangerous, her parents decided to hide with the partisans in the forest. They also had an 11-year-old daughter, Mina, and a 13-year-old son, Alex.
They bought weapons, but the Pole who sold it - denounced them and they were murdered.
Earlier, her Jewish father, when he found out that a Pole, Władysław Grzegorczyk, was helping the Jews, asked him if he could take the baby for safekeeping. She was six weeks old then. They agreed - that if they survived, the Grzegorczyks would give her back to them, if not, they would raise her as their own child.
This is an amazing story of humanity and various, mixed human characters.
