Mary Magdalene was from Magdala. This Mary is Mary of Bethany, the sister of Lazarus most likely. Mary Magdalene got mixed up with many other women - that's why she got a bad reputation as being a prostitute when she wasn't. She was a follower of Christ from early on, a supporter of His ministry and she was there right up until He died and was the first to witness Him resurrected. Mary was a very common name then, so it was easy for other Marys to get confused with Mary of Magdalene. This woman was NOT Mary of Magdalene though.

The particular 'specific' one I went to - the Priests did not understand nor preach Salvation, nor God as being relational. I had a powerful encounter with Jesus in 2002 and I received Him as my Lord and Savior that year and have been walking with Him ever since.

He is not married on womans body but to all of our souls. Jesus is Both 100% Completely perfect God and 100% Completely perfect Human BUT WITHOUT SIN HE IS HUMAN WITH NO WORDLY, HUMANLY, ATTRACTED TO A WOMAN NEVER. HE IS HUMAN IN A SENSE THAT HE HAS A BODY, SENSES HE HAS FEELINGS HE WILL CRY, SAD, HAPPY , HUNGRY, THIRSTY, SLEEP, BUT NOT TO HAVE A FEELINGS ON A WOMAN TO HAVE LUST AND SEX AND HAVE KIDS AND NOT TO BE MEAN, QUARREL, STEAL, STAB A PERSON, KILL A PERSON CUZ THIS IS A SIN. Thats why He is our God cuz He is unique he is different from us. He is unique different in a sense of although he is Human and God but he is without SIN. Do u know and understand what a SOUL is? Thats why u dont understand cuz u never seperate the body from the soul? U keep thinking about the body, flesh without thinking and forgetting we have a Heart soul that belongs to God. OUR soul is married to him to OUR heavenly, spiritualy Bridegroom Jesus. Its a sin that Jesus is married to Magdalene in a body flesh to have sex and kids cuz that too Earthly, humanly, wordly, Rational wordly manner because I said before, He is our God God is PERFECT sinless. WITHOUT SIN. Dont make him a sinful person to have Earthly, humanly, Rationalistic marriage to Magdalene cuz he is Always married to all of us, each and everyone of us is married to him Spiritually. He is not married to an Earthly, wordly Humanly to have sex and have kids but He is married to our SOUL. He is not only married spiritually to One person only but To ALL OF US including magdalene but we are ALL married to Him SPIRITUALLY. Do u know that we are all his Children and Bride? I dont know whats ur Religion but Have u ever Red the Bible were Adam And Eve sin well thats the original sin. @Catholic Verity You're certainly entitled to your beliefs and faith, but I don't feel any draw whatsoever towards Catholicism. As you proved by your post, the religion often seems to view outsiders as little more than potential points to win on a scoreboard rather than as individual souls to genuinely care about. If you want to actually engage in interfaith conversations, simply telling someone they're wrong and then demanding they change their religion on the spot isn't exactly going to do it.

@@Cliff_Simon While we may never know for certain, there's more historical context to suggest that Jesus would have been married, if not to Mary Magdalene, then to somebody. A young Jewish man being unmarried at that time would've raised more eyebrows and, if I recall correctly, one couldn't become a rabbi if he was single. Honestly, I don't understand the Christianity that seeks to strip Jesus of any semblance of humanity. At best, it suggests that the almighty Creator couldn't multi-task while on Earth. At worst, it reveals that the Creator thinks very little of us indeed if the daily lives and relationships of humanity are apparently so dirty and evil he couldn't stand to experience them while incarnating as one of us. And personally, I think Jesus showing all the displays of divinity attributed to him while also living a fully human life was the entire point; it was the Creator showing that, when we're truly connected to ourselves, our loved ones and community, and that which is greater than us all, there is no separation between Creator and Creation. Those are my thoughts, and you're free to think what you will.

I prefer this version of Saint Mary Magdalene as the sinful woman of Luke 7:47, as the sister of Lazarus and Saint Martha, and possibly the adultress.
