And they tried so hard to ruin that? What the hell were they thinking? When they finally hooked up it felt weird. They never held hands even when they were on the beach. He never told Lorelai how much he loved her. I get it he wasn't that kind of guy and so did she. He could have said it at least once an episode. He said it when they were at Martha's vineyard. Her told her he loved her at their wedding they were having lobster. I know you all saw her whole face lid up when he said that. Every time that woman smiles my god it turned me to butter. Scott Patterson was the luckiest man alive. Lauren Graham is still a very beautiful and very sexy and diserable woman. That woman would still be gorgeous at 120. If I disrespected anyone reading this I'm sorry it wasn't my intention. I'm not sure what the rules on this thing is if I was being disrespectful I will delete my response.

I just watched all 11 parts in a row and all I can say is thank you....I think I'm going to rewatch Gilmore Girls now. Luke and Lorelai should have gotten together way earlier than they did. Watching these parts made me realise how much Luke was doing so much and they did not get together and stay together until the later season. And they should have gotten married before the A Year in the Life, they made him chase her for 7 seasons and they did not get married until the last episode of A Year in the Life.

@@claireify1963 i’m guessing there were plans for them to get married, but the show got cancelled. and they probably saved the marriage for A Year In The Life because they thought the fans deserved to see it. that’s all i can think of because it’s very out of character for them to have not gotten married in those 9 years otherwise

Wow. I can't believe it's over. This series fueled me like a coffee I.V. Thank you so much for bringing them back into my life. Can't wait for the next series! (also, this may be a hot take but I'm just now realizing how selfish lorelai was with Luke needing to wait. Like I understand that it was frustrating and yeah Luke could've handled it better but Lorelai did the EXACT same thing with needing to wait for Rory and Luke stood by her and supported her and waited patiently for her. When things did work out she didn't even consult Luke on his own wedding and just expected it to be okay, and with Luke being Luke he was okay because it meant he got to marry her but I don't know he just seemed too good for her at times. Even though they are most definitely soul mates.)

Upon rewatch with clear eyes, Lorelai was very much like her mom but with an always cheery facade. Her relationship with Rory was also at times of real trouble superficial--they're both so conscious of the supposedly perfect sisterly/friendly relationship they don't tell each other real things like Rory getting a boyfriend, for fear of jeopardizing what they have. It's a very different show from the surface level story.

@@smurfyday totally. This reminds me of the scene before Rory runs away in season 1 and shes trying to have a real conversation with lorelai but lorelai is just making jokes the whole time. Altho she wouldn't admit it, she was a lot like Emily the main difference is that Emily tells it how she sees it while lorelai kind of tries to please everyone and make everyone like her.
