I admit it, back in the days, when Luke started on KZbin, I was kind of a hater. Not that I left comments on his videos or disliked them or anything, just that I thought he was overrated. But man did he prove me wrong over the years... Great job Luke, you are now way better than I could ever dream of becoming. You put in the hard work and it shows. Count me as a fan!

I think the biggest thing was because most of the people we heard talking about him WEREN'T drummers. Without any regard to skill level I believe the same can be said of COOP3RDRUMM3R. Whether or not he's the greatest drummer of our generation, people flock to him because he charismatic, flashy and is just a genuinely nice guy. I always kind of thought Luke was overrated because of the way he was talked about and all he seemed to do was drum covers without ever really taking the time to give him credit for his skills, even back then. In Casey's case (See what I did there) I believe a lot of it to have been because of "Disproportionate Fame", that the level of fame he had accrued wasn't equivalent to the amount of skill that he possessed at that time. Feeling as though he didn't deserve it and that there were more deserving people out there a lot of us black balled him and ignored anything that had to do with him, even to go so far as to use him as an insult to another drummers ability. In my opinion and in all honesty, Casey has earned what he's got. He's put in the time, the dedication, he knows how to market himself easily being the biggest drum channel on KZbin (Or at least in ) and his skills have gotten A LOT better. And after all of the stuff that has gone on the first thing he does is turn around and give back to the community by building a studio. Secretly I think we were all just a tad bit jealous, mostly because we thought we were better than him. Better drummers? Maybe. Better People? Not so much. I know the original comment was solely about Luke but they've both come a long way since starting out on KZbin all those years ago.

I quit drums long ago, in my late teens, long before the internet, long before youtube, ... The drummers I knew were people like D. Weckl from fusion, Lombardo and Bostaph from thrash metal, Portnoy from progressive...decades have passed and ,as I completely lost interest in music, I did not follow the drum scene. Now, I start playing again in my late 30's... I come to youtube to search for new blood in drumming And then I see this...It is like I woke up in another era....

@John Frum , indeed and it is good that we recognize it. There still are a lot of people of our age that insist that their favorite drummers back in the day were better. They were not. I am also into martial arts and the same phenomenon is observed there. There are people who insist that the wise, deadly masters of old would kill those contemporary ufc fighters who train in state of the art facilities, with 2-3 different coaches for every fighting style, scientific nutrition and strength conditioning. Old school fanatics cannot accept the fact that just like every human endeavor, music and musicians (or sports) advance leap and bounds because of the spread of information these days. Nostalgia is one thing, honest evaluation is another. Those kids today are amazing and it is great that we can still be surprised by something revolutionary in music.

Have watched this so many times. I honestly think you and Jason Richardson have outdone yourselves with this composition and tech. The parts that both of you have written are so intricate yet refreshing. All those years of doing drum covers of all different styles and genre, despite some lashback, trying things out of your comfort zone, and continuing to push yourself over and over again really show in this one. I don't think this is something that just any drummer can play, let alone compose. And sharing your journey over all this time is such an inspiration. Kudos. Only qualm, the song's not eight minutes long :'( Guess you get twice the views, though
