Any other drummers here notice like at 0:58 that his kick drum mic cable just disappears into an unported (no hole) reso Tama head? And that the Tama logo never really moves with him stomping the kick? It's known he rarely uses a reso head on the kick in the studio, so did Tama Green screen one in post production to get their logo more visible? It's weird....

Saw gojira live last year and was absolutely blown away. He sounded so clean. On top of that he was wailing so hard on the drums, he cracked like 30 sticks through out the set. And tossed them out to the audience mid song, while grabbing another at the same time. Never missing a beat.

So couple of years ago my brother bought us a ticket to go see Deftones. Somehow, because of covid, it had to be rescheduled. It's funny because gojira wasn't on the first list!! Great late birthday from my brother. Watching gojira open up for deftones was the best thing ever. Im a drummer and ive been following gojira for awhile not the biggest metal fan but ill listen to it every once in awhile. What a great experience seeing Mario and abe cunningham drummer from deftones seeing in that night. 😱🤯🤘🏽

I love his energy and dynamics with his playing style as well as how technical he is but is yet gritty enough that it is just right! He "feels" the music... That is something that a lot of technical drummers don't have and it can not be taught. It's natural! Mario is a beast!
