I am half Irish and you need not be Irish to recognize a vocal genius....great phrasing, tone and volume control... watch the auld triangle from the German circus show in '76... learn the history of the song and if you appreciate luke you'll realize the monster talent he was and the huge heart he had....enjoy

I have never heard of these first songs, thank you very much for putting them on. My father who just has died 93 years old, also had been a miner after 2nd ww for around 6 years, and twice he escaped death, once a huge part of the ceiling came down just beside him (the german miners called it "Sargdeckel"; the second time he escaped a bigger catastrophy, where nnearly 200 died, just by chance that he couldn`t reach the lift going down in time. Thanks that they put it in song and music, it is so important not to forget the foolishness of Greed by the owners of the mines and other companies who prefer risk to safety because of the money.

I only found Luke Kelly a few weeks ago. Can’t imagine how I didn’t hear of him through the years. Have been playing his music on U-tube since I first heard him. I guess the Dubliners weren’t that popular in the USA 🇺🇸 in the 60’s and 70’s He’s the best of the best. Wish I could have seen him live. 💚☘️
