I've always loved music, when I was in my early teens I listened to Nirvana, Metallica and the Dubliners. Then Black Sabbath and the Dubliners. Later in my teens I turned to Death and Black Metal, during that time my favorites were Mayhem, Marduk, Bathory, and The Dubliners. When I finally got over that I found early american blues, so I listened to Robert Johnson, Son House etc, and The Dubliners. Gradually that turned into old american folk, like the Carter Family, Roscoe Holcomb, Dock Boggs etc. During this time I also listened to the Dubliners. I also listened to old Country like early Johnny Cash, Roy Acuff and also the Dubliners. Now 38 years old with life long passion for music Ive found beauty and quality in almost every genre, from peruvian mountain folkmusic to russian Hardbass. Imho the original Dubliners was the greatest band to ever exist. I continuously keep finding new layers of quality and passion in their music. 5 people, each one in a million somehow got together. So grateful. Thank you

Dicky Herlambang It’s about a lad who’s out in the town of Belfast, a meets a pretty young maid (who has a black velvet band). He gets charmed and they walk for a bit before she nicks a pocketwatch from a passing gentleman and gives it to the lad. Next he’s in court for the theft of the pocketwatch, and ends up being sent to Australia on a prison ship. Sometimes, the young maid gets sent as well. The end of the song tells the moral: don’t get too taken by those young maids, beware before they get you drunk and doing stupid things. It’s more of a light warning or a fun tale then a sad song. Does that all make sense?

💛 Believe in LORD JESUS and you will be saved. Accept HIM as your saviour so that you may enter the Kingdom of GOD when the time comes. The MOST HIGH GOD is inviting you to dine with HIM. “John 3:16, 18 NLT “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.” ( GOD’S SON JESUS) A repentance prayer: Prayer of salvation | Heavenly and Almighty GOD, I come before you humbled and sorrowful, aware of my sins and ready to repent. LORD forgive me for I have sinned before you. Wash away my sins purify me, and help me to turn from these sinful nature. Lead me to walk in your way instead, leaving behind my old life and starting a new life in you. JESUS, I accept you as my Lord and saviour and TODAY, I want to make you the LORD of my life. I choose nothing but YOU and YOUR ways ONLY, in YOUR MIGHTY name AMEN ✝︎🕊️ 0:02 0:02

Music is universal, people should've learned that by now. R.I.P Luke, Ciaran, Ronnie, and Barney. And long live John, may his last days be filled with happiness, and when he finally does move onto Fiddler's Green, I'm sure the lads will be there, waiting for him.

I went to Dublin for mams 50th Birthday and stayed with relatives; we were drinking in a traditional pub with a live folk band. I asked the bodhran player for a go of his drum; he asked me... If I had a Rolls Royce, would I let him drive it??.... ye man looked like Lou Costello . . Needless to say, I didnt get a go... however I did buy my own! Cracking song there..

The Irish, they, just as we Southern Italians, always fought for social justice, keen of the world around them, natural song and dance artists. I like Ireland and everything Irish with the same passion as I like my Calabrese roots.

Ireland and the Irish are quickly fading into the shadow of multicultural oblivion. The Irish nation and culture has been betrayed by Communist Sinn Fein / IRA and will good down as a sad footnote in history.
