I only came across this a few months ago and as an English man was unaware of luke kelly. How naive, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it. He had the greatest male singing voice in the world there is so much character in it. Some songs are all about the lyrics and the way there spoken, no frills no stylised fashions just honest to goodness what you see is what you get talent. He'd piss over anybody today.

Ive listened to West African music tjat reminds me greatly of these acapella irish tunes... i know Sudan isnt in West Africa btw... but there is something beautiful and primitive in a lot of Irish music and it's a common thread in the music of a few countries
