Been watching him since sophomore year of high school. People said he'd be a bust at Duke. People said he wouldn't be able to get his shot off. People said he wouldn't be strong enough. People said he wouldn't be quick enough. Luke works hard and he wins. He is by far the most underrated player in the draft and scouts have finally taken notice. He does way more than shoot - but he also plays the role that each coach asks him to play. Unleash him and expect big things.

Luke is talented. He's a very smooth athlete, has good natural timing, nice touch, and a strong grasp of angles. He also has strong fundamentals. I'll definitely wish this guy good luck in the pros.

The kind of consistency in his shot the pistons sorely need. Just hope he's still available and we are smart enough to draft him.
@crase347 жыл бұрын
I've been fortunate enough to watch him play since he was in 4th grade. I've walked just before going in at each level. I believe you'll be a perennial All-Star and score in the mid-20s throughout his career. #Franklin

Luke Kennard to Thunder Please!!!!

they desperately need a knock down shooter
@gameinformationpokertheory7 жыл бұрын
Thunder would have to trade up to get him at 11-15 pick. Currently, Thunder are at 21st Pick. OKC had a great 2016/17 Season -- teams will defense Westbrook differently in upcoming season. Westbrook needs 2-3 Three Point Threats to space the floor better.

The thing about Luke that a lot of people don't realize is that he's big (6'6"), but also has a pretty creative handle and shot creating ability. He's not just a shooter. He's sneaky athletic, too. Biggest downside for him is that he has a short wingspan (6'5"), and his shot arc is low. I still think he should be able to get his shot off consistently in the NBA, though, because his release is so quick.
@theophilussparks58397 жыл бұрын
Shouldn't be a problem, he's quick enough to get to his spot and his handles aren't bad either.. Question is he a 2-3 ?? and what kind of spacing does he need in a pro-style offense ..??
@tkinsey37 жыл бұрын
I feel like he's a two for sure....but will he be able to guard a 2?
@evansully68407 жыл бұрын
At 6'6" he definitely has the size to guard an NBA 2, it's just a question of whether or not he has the lateral quickness to make up for his small wingspan.
@brandonmcstay64017 жыл бұрын
Best thing about Luke Kennard is his footwork. His Feet are so impressive when he is in the lane. If Detroit makes him a catch and shoot guy he will light it up but his overall offense is NBA ready especially off of screens. Only thing about Luke is his defense he has potential to be a decent defender but the other guy will score 20 a night easy on him.

Luke will be a successful NBA player very crafty just knows how to play. If I had to make a comparison he reminds me of a better shooting Mike Dunleavy or Jeff Hornacheck.

I didn't watch a ton of Duke this year, I know he doesn't have the length to bother NBA average Small Forwards so I guess what I'm asking is; Is he going to have the foot speed to prevent NBA average shooting guards from turning the corner on him. And if not does he bring enough offensively to justify pairing him with a defensive back up?
@brandonmcstay64017 жыл бұрын
I can promise you one thing Kennard ain't defending no one. I watch Duke every game of course every year and I can score a few baskets on him. His value is offense don't expect a 2 way player. His offense will give you 20 a night in the near future

Looks like he has a thumb flick from his guide hand on his shot. Pretty consistent shot, though. Good player. Might be better than Grayson.

@alex90467 жыл бұрын
The speed is there, I hear you. But it's more like Brandon Jennings, two motion and kicks legs forward.
@leroyglam39207 жыл бұрын
True: it's one of those borderline shot motions, and he does have more sway than Steph. But it's a great motion. Hope this guy does well in the pros.
@leroyglam39207 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex P. I was thinking about Bradley Beal not Brandon Jennings. I get why you'd say Jennings - Luke and Brandon are both lefties, both have quick releases. But I think Luke is more like Steph in that he's meticulous in his shot preparation, he really uses his legs and torso well, gets great alignment and is all around smooth and clean. A lot of players come into the NBA in need of shot coaches. Luke Kennard could be a shot coach himself. Brandon, on the other hand, is quite loose and, with respect, quite sloppy in his motion. (Actually, I think Brandon Jennings is a very talented who relied too much on talent.)
