If i recall correctly, isn't Ahsoka actually fairly close in age to Anakin? It never seemed that way from how they were portrayed, but wasn't Anakin only 20 when Luke and Leia were born, which took place sometime after Ahsoka left the order at 16, which would have made her 17-18 to Anakin's 20 when the twins were born.

Not quite. Anakin was born in 41 BBY, and the twins were born in 19 BBY. So Anakin was 22 when they were born. Anakin was 19 when the Clone Wars actually began. Ahsoka, on the other hand, was 14 when she met Anakin. So it’s still a pretty small age gap, but makes a little more sense for a college-aged kid to be mentor to a freshman in high school.
