True, but it's also typical of soaps to pick and build up a favorite couple and portray them in exactly the way we're seeing here. They don't spend this much time on a "throwaway" pairing, so it's actually quite flattering and moving that they've annointed Nuke as the next "it" couple worth spending time with. They could just as easily being showing them evolving into crystal-methheads, as well as possibly a night of indiscretion where one strays and has unsafe sex,and dealing w/the aftermath.

Hi there, I'm doing my second round here, so I can tell you: Yes, the writers messed it all up during the last year and that was a decisive part of the terribly wrong decisions that killed this show. Above all it was a huge disrespect towards millions of fans and Van (Luke) and Jake (Noah) who had been developing this wonderful love story for years, touring fan events/gay pride events all around the world and so on. You just have to enjoy the good times and forget about the last 100+ episodes.

They need a foil, otherwise you run the risk of mislabeling a whole community. One of the reasons Will&Grace was so impactful was because you got to see 2 different sides of "being gay", there is no one way to be,that helped open eyes. The intro of Tony/Redge could be good for showing the viewing audience a fuller spectrum of gays, the good and the bad, would help the naive from thinking all are one way . It's def the 2 ends of the extreme, but it's a start. You'll never make everyone happy.

And you know exactly what I'm referring to--the tendency of broadcast TV to strip gay people of any hint of sexuality. To treat them as either sexless eunuchs or lunatic killers. You KNOW they don't portray their "IT" straight couples as preciously chaste as this. Compare this portrayal to the gay storyline last year on UK's "Hollyoaks." It spotlights how glaringly artificial (and cowardly) this story has become. Let's hope when the writers return they give the characters back their balls.

I wonder if Reg and Tony, despite being a couple, sleep around with other guys all the time like it's no big deal. That would explain why Reg barely reacts to Tony drooling all over Noah (which was way out of line). I like how Luke and Noah are set as the opposite of Reg/Tony - sweet, caring and shy rather than oversexed and racy. They don't want their first time to be in the middle of a sex and drugs party, good for them.
