As a British fan who has watched his career from day one, AJ has always been a bit of an enigma to me. I have never really rated him as a fighter, and other than a couple of performances, he has mostly failed at the highest level. He's still a megastar because of how well his career has been navigated and protected, and that's smart promoting. Good for AJ and Matchroom making a TON of money. He's looked very, very average and vulnerable for years but because he got a good win against an MMA fighter with one pro fight, we were being told he's "back". He was not back, at all, and this was just a continuation of where he's been for years.

I ignored the ngannou fight and the non-puncher Wallin fight....I went and paid attention to Helenius. He is a big puncher...great jab as well...but he is well past it. and GayJay was so timid in that fight. Now how will he be against an aggressive Dubois who is a great puncher with such a powerful jab. I said for WEEKS Dubois will KO him in the 5th round and i explained the Helenius fight, aj being very timid, even more than against helenius and Dubois being very aggressive. aj is overrated. people saying "this aj" beats usyk...come on. I knew Dubois would destroy him. He out sized Usyk but couldn't wear him down. He fought an equal, just a little bit less taller and still couldn't use his size to his advantage. Lennox would use leverage, reach and weight to try and wear down an opponent. When he couldn't stay on the inside he kept them at a distance and utilized stiff jabs. When fighting inside uppercuts, overhands and hooks. Same with Holifield, Tyson and Bowe. All these fighters know how to use their strengths to their advantage plus knowing how to use dirty tactics when fighting in the trenches. In the heavys you have to throw everything at them including the kitchen sink. Killer instincts and tactics are essential in the heavyweight division

In hindsight it seems clear to me. Joshua's used to a slower tempo kind of fight, used to opponents who won't take risks against him due to his power. Man can dominate at range but has never had to deal with many up-close swarmers, no one's really put on him besides Ruiz, Usyk and Dubois, maybe Whyte also. He beat Ruiz but he didn't do it by learning how to deal with the situation, he won by avoiding the situation, backing up and staying at his preferred range against an out of shape fatso who couldn't chase him down. Dubois was different, he could catch up to him, and was able to challenge him at long range as well due to his good jab and looping punches.

Stop trying to make excuses for AJ. There is no version of AJ that could have Beaten Dobios. It all comes down to attributes. Dobios attributes are all wrong for AJ ie top notch punching power, good chin good stamina, young, comparable size and strength, good enough and improving box skills. Non of AJ previous opponents including the Ukrainian current champion that he lost to have that much multiple advantages over AJ. The Ukrainian is just at another level to AJ and Dobios when it comes to boxing skills

Dude you are out of your mind. Dubois is going to destroy Usyk. Danny already knocked Usyk out with a body shot and was robbed. Usyk better lose to Fury or he will have to face Danny again. Dubois will steam roll Usyk! And all of the other heavyweights.

He lost fanboy! making excuses he had plenty of chances to win,but Usyk schooled him and destroyed him in all rounds and KO him in the 9th round

@@roseroselyne9045 Ok then lets see if Usyk can do it again and get his belt back.

Agreed. Usyk is such a coward. The point of boxing is to knock the other guy out, not hit and run to not get hit like a sissy.

boxing industry is a cunning money making machine. AJ did not do any effort this fight & has made bunch of money. he has the name. Aj will rematch DDD ofc will win it, than AJ vs Fury will happen cause that's another lots of money fight.

It's crazy Luke's production value compared to MMA guru and how much better MMA guru is. Guru is so much more entertaining compared to this yawn fest.

Both Joshua and Hrgovic underestimated Dubois. The next guy will not. I think Joseph Parker could beat Dubois, he has a much higher ring I.Q, great movement and fast hands.
