as someone with terrible asthma, it’s so disappointing to see her be so incredibly dismissive about her diagnosis as if “it’s just asthma” means she’s not actually sick ??? also it’s disgusting the way she coughs and purposely chooses not to cover. it’s so inconsiderate

Also have terrible asthma, I'm confined home, scared. Knowing that in times like this, I could die If I caught this virus. I've been on inhalers and meds my whole life and I still have it, it's rare for asthma to just go away. Healthcare in my country is free, but currently I am taking 3 different types of inhaler everyday, in a country like the US, maybe I couldn't even afford those. I'm thankful, but people like her, I'm sorry, disgust me. And Ashley thinking an inhaler could just solve everything. No. Just no. Amari's "everyone has asthma" I'm sorry. Are her friends brain dead??

I’m asthmatic and it definitely isn’t funny. I hate that people never take it seriously and think I’m joking around when I say I have issues with my lungs. Then older people are always like, “you’re young, you shouldn’t be breathing that hard”. Like, shut up, Janet...🙄

The US Medical system is weird, the doctor shouldn't give her a choice? When it comes to TB, here in France (I think in Europe in general) if you are diagnosed with TB, and sometimes even if doctors believe you have it and you are yet to be tested, you are forced into confinement at the hospital for 4 to 12 weeks because it's considered as a safety hazard for the population, because unlike asthma, you can contaminate others when you have TB. And it's quite dangerous. You get put on tons antibiotics for more than a month. I'm shocked that people don't find that even more outrageous and that MTV decides to broadcast that as some stupid "reality TV plot"

You can have TB without having symptoms. I came into contact from a patient during the beginning of my career. I always test positive with a skin TB test and have negative chest xrays. If she did have it her friends would not necessarily have it. She most likely has asthma and bronchial damage by smoking improperly for years. I am also a big weed smoker. Your lungs are really only meant to inhale air, not smoke.

but you ain't a mental health professional, and can't judge through a screen what someone does or doesn't have so there's that. Having anxiety doesn't make you an expert in what PTSD looks like - it can often look like anxiety too. In fact, there is increasing evidence that anxiety disorders are themselves linked to small traumas and so are in a way, their own form of PTSD. Maybe let's hold off on telling people what they do and don't have based on a reality show???

@@julialarson1641 I have CPTSD too snapsies. I agree it's really hard to watch her pushing away the people who try to help her, but it's even harder for me to see all the comments invalidating her trauma and telling her she's overexaggerating. It seems like to me she's on the precipice of realising how deep her issues go and that she'll need extensive treatment to learn to manage them. I worry about how I would respond if it were me, having the rock bottom before I finally get the help I need - but in front of so so many people, who won't stop telling me I'm a liar and that my trauma doesn't count. I would probably make a long video trying to explain myself too. It would probably make me feel worse and delay me getting help. There's nothing worse than someone telling you that your trauma is invalid, and you would think it wouldn't matter if it was strangers, but when it's a trigger point because of life long gaslighting it's a different story. I just wish people would be more educated and compassionate and that's what my comment comes down to. If people commented instead with even just "if you're really struggling with xyz then see a doctor/therapist" despite how passive aggressive that is, it would be way better because at least it would offer Tana a GOOD solution that isn't just "Shut up and never talk about your past or try to explain your actions again" - which is effectively silencing someone's call for help. (And I know half or more of the people saying this stuff don't really want her to behave better or get better, because they love hate-watching her trainwreck life so they can feel better about themselves, which makes everything 10x worse.) Sometimes people just don't have the skills yet to communicate any other way, but they won't get them by strangers being jerks on the internet. Tana is totally responsible for her actions, and one day or another she will have to reckon with that from a better state of mind. We've all been there -sifting through out past from a better headspace, and realising how we should have responded better, and having to apologise to the people we hurt and make it up to them everyday by being better. But equally, as an audience, we are also responsible for our words and actions - and a lot of the people I see here are using theirs poorly and causing more harm than good. I genuinely think most people are just here to crap on Tana and they have no regard for her well being regardless of what they say. The entertainment value for them is to feel better about themselves, by watching her. And if she is truly acting this way because of trauma, then what they're effectively doing is only encouraging her to keep engaging in self-destructive toxic activities - what they're here to watch is someone spiral into rock bottom. Which is pretty twisted if you ask me. idk this whole situation is just messed up.

@@pacnaib yea but no tho. She has lived her life, she knows more about what she's been through and what she's experiencing than we ever will - so yes, doctor best, her second, us last. Sorry, but that's just how it is. And what she has described happening to her is definitely child abuse, and could easily give someone a form of PTSD, which is why it is so harsh to see people denying and invalidating that. I speak as someone with CPTSD, who went through similar stuff as a child. That ish will scar you on a clinically relevant level - but no one else but me would know that happened to me, unless I told them. And for years, no one did. SO unless we're outright accusing her of lying about her parents we should butt out and just tell her to see a doctor/psychologist

@@julialarson1641 Oh gosh, sorry Julia! Snapises just means same. It comes from a card game called snap here, where you yell snap when two of the same cards are put down. It wasn't meant to criticise you for high horse or anything. I understand your point of view, even in the initial comment because I had an instant response to people's comment's too. While I do wish Tana would make better choices, I just also know she's only 21 and beyond that probably less mature than the average 21 y/o with a good childhood. I believe people already dismiss and judge people that show signs of mental illness that haven't been normalised/understood by the public yet, so criticising ourselves as a group for not being the perfect representative is hard, because what are we supposed to do? Magically become less traumatised? Sadly we can't, the best we can do is seek help, recover and then advocate from a better places for the others suck behind, still struggling.

Also these people would absolutely not make it working a regular 9-5 job. It’s pathetic. One more thing.. this whole “I don’t care about anything” attitude and the fact that she gets really defensive whenever someone tries to express concern is the same sort of mentality I had when I was addicted to pills. Destini XOTWOD I wish I had a simple answer. My addiction started out with pills and escalated from there. After two stays in inpatient rehab it was only after I overdosed that I got serious about getting clean. That’s really what it boils down to is wanting it for yourself and finding a reason personal to you to actually do it and keep it. No matter the reason it’s always going to be incredibly difficult to overcome the mental aspect of it but having as much support as you can from people around you helps immensely. It just takes time and keeping yourself busy is so important. Once I wasn’t sick anymore I worked my ass off. I was also on a monthly shot that even if I chose to use again would prevent me from feeling high (I don’t fully recommend that though bc of side effects & it doesn’t do anything good for your mental state). Sorry for the long response I could go on and on lol hope that helped ❤️

I know this was posted a while ago, but this comment was so spot on and accurate. I feel like the only reason I have continued to watch Tana is because she reminds me of the old me when I was addicted to various drugs. I was also very defensive and didn’t take care of myself. I neglected things until they were so pressing I had no choice except to address it. If it wasn’t absolutely dire I usually would continue to push it away. I hate that it took Tana and her behavior for me to be able to see the flaws in my own behavior and how destructive it really is. I used to envy Tana and wish people would enable me the way they do her and no I am grateful and realize the people around me love and care about me and refused to give up on me even though I went to inpatient rehab three separate times and it felt like I was never going to find a reason to quit. I have now been sober for 6 months and it gets a little easier with time, but it is a battle that I don’t think will ever end for me. I still have urges and have to actively choose not to ingest opiates every day.

Amy I do think that’s a good point, but imo seeing a plastic surgeon/doctor strictly for aesthetics is different. She would go in already having an idea of what would be said, and is in control of the situation. Especially with how normalized fillers/surgery are in her scene, Tana probably doesn’t see it as much different or more invasive than going to the hairdressers.

Of course none of us are experts on mental health but, in my opinion, her so called (undiagnosed) “PTSD” related issues aren’t as debilitating as she tried to act like they were in this episode due to the inconsistency of her behavior. Again I’m no expert and of course everyone displays their feelings differently but she doesn’t come off as someone that was legitimately having a panic attack (I have PTSD).

I have been diagnosed with asthma when I was about 13 years old. I was studying music and classical singing at one of the most prestigious and competitive schools in my country at the time. When I started having troubles with singing and breathing during lessons, I visited a doctor and got diagnosed. I was told that asthma, in some cases, is not a boundary and I tried to overcome it with the medication i got and continued with singing. It broke my heart when I literally wasn't able to bring a single noise out of my throat. Singing was always a dream of mine and I had to give up the school that I got in, my biggest hobby and my whole life actually. And that is just a tiny bit of thing this desease can do. There are literally people dying because of it. Seeing someone talking about asthma in such a disrespectful way breaks my heart and makes me hate this woman even more.

Asthma is inflammation of the tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs, sometimes it is caused by smoking/being around smoke/allergies. Coughing blood can happen with asthma as you can pop vessels in your throat. My experience with asthma is it is chronic so I have a preventer inhaler I take twice a day and a steroid inhaler I take for attacks. In my experience most people I have met with asthma are chronic like me to varying degrees. It frustrates me how they bar Jordan blew it off in this video. Jordan was right, people die of asthma especially when they don't use health care or have access to health care. Now with coronavirus we are extremely high risks as it is a respiratory virus

Just a side note. Weed is addictive. Everything can be addictive. It's not PHYSICALLY addictive, but it most certainly can become a habit you can't live without. Not smoke can affect your mood, and for people who smoke everyday, it can be extremely hard to stop. I don't like when people say it's not addictive because that's dismissing how much a person, like Tana, can become dependent on it and dismisses how much of a struggle it can be to stop

I would always call it dependency rather than addiction because real chemical addiction is in another weight class to dependency. Yeah, I mean her tone when she says she can’t not smoke in the doc’s office is so pleading and almost childlike for a split second. And then she goes back to being rude and fake af. But that split second is enough for me to believe that she truly does emotionally depend on the weed to take the edge off, which I can definitely sympathize with. Doesn’t discount the fact that she is dicking around with her health but still

I probably won’t see your reply. You’re pain is valid. However, in that moment you were an adult and realized that the pain was worth it in the long run. If tana had said, “I’m sorry but I’m feeling extremely uncomfortable. Would you mind taking the pump off for one second so I can prepare myself?” That would be the appropriate way to speak up. Instead she ripped the pump off and straight up refused medical care. You and Tana may have similar pain, but you behaved like an adult
