Luke and Zara, this was an absolute pleasure! I am an ex Londoner who has been living close to NYC in NJ for 27 years. Watching you swoon over everything little thing, was bemusing and adorable! Your enthusiasm and excitement is addictive! I have to tell you that I cannot go past a Trader Joes, I love it so much! However, the one you went to is not the best representation of how iconic Trader Joes is. I think that's because it's in NYC and it's in the basement, and that lends a coldness that could not be more opposite of TJ's signature character. Now I really want to take you to my local TJ's where I swear you will feel like all the employees are your best friend's. They are ridiculously warm and friendly and if you walk in feeling stressed or down, I guarantee you will walk out hopping and skipping to your car! It is the best little warmest, fuzzy, coolest grocery store in the world. Can't wait to see part two:) PS: I saw 'Chicago' 26 years ago- it was AMAZING!

Already i am craving NYC watching this... first time for me was at 49 and a year cancer free ( 16yrs ago) got upgraded to buisness class with BA, Straight into Macy's from the flight, Went ice skating in Central park ( cant skate for my life ) appeared in a foodie commercial in an Italian restaurant as it was foodie week , Ended up in a strip joint by mistake as they had a great restaurant and yes we stayed and ate , went on a Sex & City tour.. the list goes on and it was a truly magical few days.. been back a few times since and every time its amazing so yes i am truly enjoying watching you both have the best times there 🙂

I'm sitting here in the US cracking up. One lesson and I'll shut up. When eating a New York Pizza one must, must, must fold it in half. That way you have crust on the bottom, crust on the top, all the goodies in the middle, it doesn't flop and is oh so good. Have fun guys, it's such a fun lace to go. It takes us about an hour and a half to get there, and I'll go just for the pizza and the deli. Glad your enjoying it.

NYcity , Brooklyn the Bronx and on and on was my weekend hangout destination when I was in my late teens and early twenties. I stayed in the Waldorf for my Honeymoon. It was $$$$. by the way. I love hearing your excitement! Your reaction to Target was priceless! I know that feeling. I’m a Texas country girl at heart but the first time I went to NYC, I fell in love. I’ve been now for every season and Christmastime. Christmas is my fav although fall is hard to beat too. You are so right, the chaos, the construction, the hectic pace is part of the best part! Last time we were there, we walked out of our hotel in the morning to a street full of hundreds, if not thousands, of Santas. We had no idea what it was. Turned out to be the annual Santa pub crawl. Bars had signs in the windows that said, “We reserve the right to refuse any Santa” we died laughing. The rest of the US is not as expensive. NYC, LA, San Francisco, Chicago and Boston are.

I went there for a weekend once. I enjoyed the ballet and plays on Broadway. Walking down Broadway and looking at all the bill boards it's great. Yes you hear sirens all night in the hotel was scary for me.

It’s so funny seeing you and Zara loving your food and treat shopping in New York because my son and daughter and I were in London in October and we were all obsessed and loving our shopping in M&S Foods, especially the Cadbury’s chocolate!! We couldn’t understand why people who live in the U.K. would want American chocolate and candy when British chocolate is so much better. Also the amazing selection of food in M&S was fantastic and the prices were so good. The three of us said that we could easily live in London; the vibes, the neighbourhood pubs (we just loved how everyone gathered at the pubs after work for a drink and even spilled out onto the streets if the pubs were full), also some of the best food we had was in a pub. The subway system was easy to navigate and we never had to wait long for a train. We live in Canada and have a lot of the same food selection (not all, but a lot) that you can find in the U.S. and honestly, I don’t think the States or Canada can touch the U.K. in the food department.

Almost no Brits prefer US chocolate, except perhaps Godiva. Reece's is popular but I think it's because the peanut butter overtakes the taste fo the chocolate. Cadbury's changed the recipe when they became an American company and it hasn't gone down well here. I prefer Galaxy chocolate as it hasn't changed. Swiss chocolate and Belgian is delicious too but US chocolate is pretty vile in most Brits opinion x

@, yes I totally agree about Galaxy chocolate. My DIL is British and also an international flight attendant, so she gets a lot of flights to London and when she’s there, she will stock up on Galaxy chocolate. When I was in London (which I loved!!!!) with my son and daughter in October, we all stocked up on Galaxy chocolate as well. The three of us took a day trip to Belgium and did a chocolate and beer food tour, and although the Belgium chocolate is said to be the best, I still think that it didn’t compare to Galaxy. I find that the U.S. chocolate (which is imported into Canada) tastes very plastic compared to British chocolate.

Our last visit to NYC was 8 years ago for our 25th wedding anniversary, we did the horse & carriage ride around Central Park on our actual anniversary, it was magical. The only downside was the week were there it was the UN assembly 🙄 it was crazy mental, police & army personnel on every corner! Probably the safest city on earth 😂 it really is an amazing city tho, so much to see, do & eat!! 😂

This was very exciting to watch and see you and Zara having a wonderful time in NYC. It’s always nice to get away and see how the other sides lives but reality sets in … things are very expensive not just in the big cities but all across the USA. Our foods have ingredients in them that are banned in the UK and other countries due to them not being healthy. Sugar is in almost everything but it is fun to see you enjoying things that you love… that Italian dinner looked amazing, pizza too. Unlike England and European countries very few restaurants allow dogs inside unless those that help the blind and or other aide dogs for disabled people. Thank you for sharing your trip with us. Ina has a dessert cake made with those Tate Chocolate Chip Crispy cookies that is to die for. ❤❤❤
