Your method of tidying the strap 'tails' is a variation of the 'buntline hitch' that used to be used on sailing ships for coiling the rope ends on the front of sails. It is still used for tidying up large coils of rope.

That Croydon drop was great to see as I grew up there. That site used to have the General Accident building on it and the building to your right Was the NLA tower which is a listed building. Great memories thanks Luke safe driving.

This used to happen to me often. My tactic was to get out my notebook and pen, and ask politely who they were, and everything they said write down asking them to repeat things if you missed something. Quite often it would start dawning on them how stupid they sounded. Never argue. After about a minute they would usually disappear. Now you have mobiles and dash cams, even better.I asked one guy which way I should go with my load of flashy paving, and he asked why we couldn't sent it by post.

Didn't realise that general hauliers were based at the timber yard. Having lived in S.C I had no idea even though I've gone past there thousands of times. Also was thrown by the fact it says Swindon on the side of the truck. Looking for a career change and watched your videos (not knowing you were on my door step). Great vids.

Hi Luke . I haven’t had water come off a palette . But off the top of a dry van trailer I have had 4” slabs of ice come off the top land on the road making a left turn . Had to stop and clear the road . Some guys have hit the brakes and the ice smashed the back of cab & air hoses . It’s when we have snow and it turns to ice . Some company’s have a gantry with overhead plough called a avalanche to clean the he snow off .Greetings from Canada 👍🇨🇦

Hi Luke recently been watching your vlogs which have been great. Trying to go down the route of HGV. What are your views on HGV if you were to be a new driver in the current climate?? Currently doing my Theory revision and Hazard Perception. Medical tomorrow to send off my D2 & D4 then this will allow to do the tests. If you can give more advice on your loads and how they are loaded this would help. Also perhaps you can do a vlog on your daily checks to allow a novice to understand what you are checking. I enjoyed both new camera angles, but I think the camera attached to the rear of the truck is very vulnerable to theft. Despite that it really shows how much the trailer swings. How do you check that you're not overladen? Do you get a feel for it and divert to a nearby weigh station? If you do find you are overlanden, what do you do?

Hi Luke how are you doing ? That lorry driver you spoke to might well have been my mate Graham Cochrane who also drives for AW Jenkinson. But talk about a small world 🌎 if it did turn out to be my Mate Luke. I saw him at Lathalmond Bus Museum outside Dunfermline not far from Knockhill. I was with my Brother Billy McKirdy who’s a bus driver with Lothian Buses 🚍 in Edinburgh. That was a good day out in September for us bus buffs 😆.
