I run 22 trucks and sometimes this happens but when the drivers come back and you can see there general frustration and upset as this kind off incident you just let it go , at the end of the day, it’s only metal and plastic . But on the other hand, I have people come back and not give two hoots about damage and those are the kind of drivers you can let go without feeling bad No stress Luke 👍🏻

Luke you're being hard on yourself and look I get it there will always be that horrible feeling you get when damage occurs. I'm glad you pointed out about not being your truck therefore it's ok it's never ok. It really shows how much you love your job just as much as I love mine and I genuinely feel what you're going through. Remember you're not the first or the last. Oh Luke, we've all been there and it's a horrible feeling when you've damaged Company property and like you when it's happend to me you do take it personally as you have Pride in the appearance of what you drive and how it looks for the Company you drive for, I totally got how you felt about it. Luckily like you My boss understood it was an accident and it wasn't done on purpose. He knew I was upset and it was fixed as soon as possible. With reference to your gifting, if you are good enough to put gifts for 10 weeks up to the Christmas period, then I don't think that anyone would be bothered about any item they may receive. Therefore Luke, just give what you want on any given week and if not suitable for them, then they should get you to give the experience to a charity of your choice.

Know how you feel Luke. I've damaged my car, had my caravan stolen, and you do feel sick. I am suprised you dont bump the truck more often with some of the small areas you sometimes have to sqeeze in. I personnally think it is worse when it isnt your own vehicle as I know from experience. Anyway it is good you have a good employer who understands. I remember years ago a Bus Driver bumped a 3 day old coach getting it out of the garage. He was sacked but then reinstated when they admitted that they wouldnt have sacked him if it was an older vehicle.

I'd be pulled in at our place if I run that low on fuel , it's not good for the filters etc. Ref. the damage. No one hurt just your pride for a few days . it's repairable . Strange week as Raul's truck took a battering also

Luke its just a piece of expensive plastic,no one was injured thats the main thing.Anyway the redesign didnt look that bad. the first time it happend to me (my fault) it took the front n/s corner off in an old ERF fibre glass cab.Boss didn,t bat an eye.Just water under the bridge anyway.

25:56 the driver was changing the siren tone which are wired to change using the horn buttons so they don’t have to take their hands off the wheel. A double toot turns the sirens off and a single toot turns them on or changes the siren used.

That said, If you leave the emergency services space to be able to make progress under blues and twos, they will ALWAYS appreciate it but they won’t always have time to show it.

Mate accidents happen I’ve had one in July holiday hit my blindside on northbound on M25 J10, it’s annoyed me as it’s my unit waited for 3 weeks for N/S/F light unit then another driver crashed it again a month later while I was on holiday, most importantly your not hurt and no one else is, it’s knocked your confidence a little.

A few years ago a friend of mine who had an Antique Business (No names😁) bought a Brand new long wheel base Transit. Driving it from the Dealers, he had gone about 3 miles and he wrote it off in a collision. Not his fault but you can imagine how he felt, especially as we ribbed him for months.
