I remember my husband saying that when he came out of the Army back in the late 1960s, he got a job at Shell Chemicals in Carrington (Manchester), but it would be two months before he could officially start, so to tide him over, he took a job with Securicor, and he had to do a couple of trips or so to London, and he cursed them to high heaven, and he only drove the dark blue security vans. It was the worst driving experience ever, and he has driven in West Berlin (as it was then), and other German cities

Difficult to see sign posts (esp. in the rain) on the far side stop any further travel to the left to recover turning too soon. I would say you got out of it really well. 2:47 those bus stops are designed this way so cyclists can overtake buses on the right. Basically you have to cross cycling lane to a bus stop that is between the road and bus stop. The issue with that that there is a small bump on cyclist lane to slow you bikes before crossing, many cyclist avoids it getting back on a road.

Sort of surreal seeing you drive through all those roads in south London from Colliers wood as I grew up in South London and still live there. I'm telling you that junction you got stuck at is a nightmare when there's traffic because no one will move at that light as they'll get stuck in the box otherwise when they want to turn right. You bossed that junction, lots of impatient people always driving through there because that light you went through changes back to red in like 2 seconds

@jordan45414 жыл бұрын
@@trucktasticsussex8183 It's a bit of a weird one because you're not tiring right and giving way to opposite traffic. It's more going slightly left, then straight then turning right as the box is only by the traffic lights he went through and not the entire junction. A lot of people always try to avoid it if they're patient enough

London was designed for a horse and cart not a 44 ton articulated truck. I should know I'm in London doing milk deliveries into Asda and Morrisons! Some of the loading areas/bays are as tight as hell! Eventually no one will want to take any truck into London. They like to place old Church Bells on the corners and railings alongside traffic lights. The best road is the one leading out of Khan's shithole.

Luke sounds like your microphone lead is packing in, as happened for the past couple of vlogs, especially @27:00 onwards it is right earphone only, the 28:40 it settles down and decides to work properly again, which is either a dodgey lead, or a loose microphone plug with all the bouncy bouncy with the cab. thing is it is illegal to mount kerbs, but yet they make junctions so tight especially around London, so how else do you take a junction? it has nearly got to block the junction for 2 sets of lights at very least for a couple of attempts when in a situation like that in an artic. little harder to view as looks like the footage was still sped up a bit, would you have taken more road to the left before the junction? it is about the only thing I can think of, but harder to tell with the sped up footage, and not knowing exactly where the trailer is on the left lane before the junction, but from the camera view I would say the trailer would be pretty close to kissing the kerb on the left before the junction anyway. so the only way would be to mount the kerbs on the left before turning right. yeah kids grow up fast, they know better than adults sometimes, and know what their parents need to do to make them happy. so I think the oldest daughter seen that you weren't as happy working for Earthline. @8:59 anyone else notice the traffic lights special for a driveway?!! usually find in a situation like that anywhere in the country that they pull out without a care in the world. either that or reverse out into the road, and then take all day to get going again.

6:20 - Welcome to London mate! You will encounter tons of those pesky mopeds with a big black box mounted on the back; I like to refer to them as hair dryers on wheels driven by 99.9% by pizza / food delivery people of a certain demographic all with only their provisional L Plates without passing their test, so they don't know how to drive let alone the highway code. They are pesky little buggers, overtake left and right, drive in your blind spots, then pop out of nowhere and surprise you in your mirrors! They pull so many dangerous manoeuvres on the road too! You have to drive extremely defensively in London, I check my mirrors and blindspots at least 10x more often here than anywhere else to avoid knocking over one of these wankers! They are far worser than the Red Taxi and Mini-Bus Drivers in Hong Kong and I thought they were bad!

@@cliveramsbotty6077 honking for no reason - a majority of these riders come from the same group of countries (you probably know which ones I am referring to) where they honk at each other like a mad hatter; I had a mate who came from that region tell me once they have to design heavy duty horns for vehicles intended for use in those markets, the regular ones we have in the UK would break after several months and they even have horn shops with all sorts of weird chimes and melodies. If you load any video filmed there or view any live stream, you are guaranteed to hear car horns going off in the background ... no exceptions! It is extremely unfortunate that they brought that and a lot of the other bad habits you mentioned over to the UK, that's their "normal" way of driving. No wonder there are so many road fatalities there!

Just one of those things mate with the turn, I used to drive buses and got caught out a couple of times with buses that had crap turning circles and had to do the same thing only I had 50 people on the bus with me. I would turn it into a joke and yell out no extra charge for showing you my full range of driving skill 😁
