I like the way you demonstrate game but one thing when you get a few moves in it is hard to tell the edge of the board from the pieces by the board. Wish you two would make more videos on games. You two do a great job.

When you lose, you have to down a beer/shot (my house rules). Or if it's a Yakuza match, the loser looses a finger.

Thanks for the tutorial! When choosing the piece for your opponent, can you choose from either color?
@krazee_aznnn
@krazee_aznnn 8 жыл бұрын
You're welcome! As indicated in the tutorial, there is no piece ownership. Color is just another feature and you can choose any piece from the unplayed pieces to give to your opponent. Hope that helps! Thank you for watching!

So why did she keep giving you dark color pieces and you kept giving her light color pieces?

so there is a way for no one to win right?

Yes, correct. Most of the time, there can be draws where both players fail to see the 4-in-a-row and just forget to call victory and they both lose the opportunity to win on that. However, more unusually, when both players are very good or extremely defensive, I've seen a legitimate draw where absolutely nothing is lined up 4-in-a-row... about a dozen or so times. So it does happen, even though I feel it is rarer.

Once this starts happening too often bewteen two-players, they would need to move to the - rightly called - master variant mentionned in the rulebook, where from this point on a Quarto can be formed with a square of four pieces also (lines still count as well of course)

You can also increase the board size from 4x4 to 8x8 by including another piece quality. Striped / Stripeless, :)

So you don't play such that four pawns with a shared feature placed in the shape of a square (like this, if each of the following dots represents a pawn ::) counts as a win?
@krazee_aznnn
@krazee_aznnn 8 жыл бұрын
+David Paransky For 4 players, they would have to be played where each pawn starts in the center of an edge and for each wall placement there must still exist a path for ALL players to get to the other side. A single pawn would win if it reached its opposite goal side first.

+Nam Ngo Thanks, but this was referring to Quarto, not Quoridor! :)
@krazee_aznnn
@krazee_aznnn 8 жыл бұрын
+David Paransky Oh, sorry! LOL My fault. You can play with that rule as well. But that rule seems to be optional. I would recommend clearing it with your opponent whether you are playing it that way or not. There are a couple of other variant rules: - 4 outer corners match - 4 inner spaces match - any cluster of 2x2 4 square matches From my understanding, standard assumed rules is 4 in a row. Those other ways of winning should be explicitly specified, but ultimately, you can play it whatever way you and your opponent agrees with.

Hey Nam, when's the next Android Netrunner Strategy Segment coming? Cool game you got there though, interesting twist on tic tac toe indeed, someone apparently made it their personal challenge to solve the good ol' problem with tic tac toe of always getting draws with everyone.

Hello Pepijn. Not sure when the next Netrunner Strategy Segment will be released. But I can tell you that it's already been filmed. It was tough because of the holidays, and then planning the wedding, and people's availability and stuff. If I had some friends that could help me out, it'd be a lot better, but I'm really the only one doing any video work. Sorry I can't promise anything on a schedule, but that's what the situation is.

Pepijn Rietveld Yep, I'm still going to try to churn them out as best/fast as I can. : ) I prefer quality over quantity. I could churn out more faster, but if it's crappy, no one will watch it.
