That's great content, Luke. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to learn English while listening to the amazing journalist and professor that your dad is. I'm a journalist as well, so thanks a lot! I hope things get better in the UK. I live in Brazil so I very much know how bad government decisions can lead a country to a complete mess.

I love your father!! I´m from Argentina, so I´m too far from UK to understand why did British voted the Brexit. I couldn´t undestand the decision! Now I see more clearly that media and the real power, I mean the corporations, are the same here and there. Hope the situation can be resolved, for welfare of the people. And I´m expecting to see another interview with your father!! Thanks both very much.

Hello Luke! First of all, I have to say that I really loved the conversation you had with your dad, it's lovely to see you together online and sharing your thoughts about different issues. Secondly, I completely agree with your dad’s point of view about politics in general. You both are so clever and I love the way you imitate Boris 😋 Finally, I wanted to write down some interesting phrases you and your dad said: “the Right Party doesn't have public service ethos”, “they have a lot of newspapers on their side”, and “its the economy in the end”. Those are facts and happen everywhere. Right parties are growing in many countries and the dominant media generally supports them, the same happens in my country, Argentina (I liked that you mentioned Messi 😁). Keep doing videos Luke, we love to see you on the screen 😎🙌🙋♀️

Hi, Luke! I normally tweet my comments, but considering this very unique occasion of watching Mr. R. Thompson, I simply had to post my comment here. As usual, it is a pleasure to listen to your Dad for so many reasons: he’s so knowledgeable and well-read and always willing to explain complex things in a way that we, lay people can understand it all. On top of that, his speech is so articulate! Let alone his amazing accent. I wish to thank you for bringing him in and please convey my compliments and gratitude to him as well. 🙌

Thanks a lot for this superinteresting podcast! I really liked Rick Thompson's point of view, he backs up everything he says on the podcast. He gives a lot of reasons and incontestable facts to stand up for his gloomy perspective about the Brexit based on true affairs rather than on political interest or view. He's always a really interesting person to listen to as he has too many interesting things to talk about on current affairs as the sensible and smart person he seems to be.

It's always a pleasure to listen to your dad. He is a pragmatic person with evident intellectual honesty as well as being politely humorous, so thanks a lot for this opportunity. Energy crisis and EU are two thorny issues in several Member States, I think ....... although, from my point of view, I can perfectly understand the Brexiteers' discontent towards the current EU, I would have preferred that UK had been a valid and wise ally to change all senseless aspects and actions that have undoubtedly not worked in the Union with the prospect of creating a true EU of peoples, a strong confederation of sovereign States free from interested external influences......

Hi Luke! Good to see you with your dad discussing current affairs. Sad to hear about how hard things are there in Great Britain these days thanks to Brexit. I believe there was no clarity in the power corridors of your country when it came to leaving Brexit. Maybe had it been done with some sort of a phased manner, things might not have been this bad. Anyways, thanks for this podcast. Stay safe!

I couldn" t agree more with you and your Dad on that Brexit thing . After lhaving lived I the UK for nearly 16 years I am thinking of leaving this country as I cant watch any more this sh* going on and seeing the UK plunging into some sort of disaster.... I hope that at least with your podcast I will be able to keep up with my English though .... And I love your podcast and I think that you and your Dad make the perfect match here - both of you are well spoken and so knowledgable so your podcast are like music to my ears .....

My first name is Bernard : Your daddy is really a wonderful person, I am French and I live in France. I have visited the UK several times and I don't understand how politicians could lie so much about the effects of UK leaving Europe. Beyond the economic and financial aspects, Europe needs the United Kingdom in Europe, we share a very long common history. I am really sad that the UK has left Europe !!! So Brexit was a really bad idea for everyone. I am for Scotland to join us in Europe !!! it is obviously my feelings, and only my feelings!

Pretty decent even tempered content. Please carry on. Just one minor point, to deliver fuel a driver needs an extra qualification on their licence (license?) on top of the HGV permit. The shortage of qualified drivers isn’t going to disappear any time soon even if they draft in the army.
