It’s interesting that the one of first things John hears on the train is the conversation between the priest and Jenny. Jenny brings up flying machines and the priest tells her “only angels can fly.” The very last conversation John has before shit hits the fan is with Jack. John asks Jack if he’s heard about flying machines and Jack tells him “they turn men into angels.”

When I first played RDR1 I was quite young and didn’t really understand why so many had such a high opinion of it but playing it through some years later when I had matured a bit more I realised it was the overall atmosphere and world the game creates; the soundtrack, characters, random encounters, the actual map and the way it’s laid out, even down to the way people talk it feel like everything was fine tuned to make you feel like you are really living in the last days of the Wild West. Going on dates and if you cheat on The likes of Kiki she fucks up your car. Hanging out with Friends adds to Niko and will offten give you more back story. The main story is great and makes it great over all. Theres things GTA5 does better and things San Andreas does better but they are worth playing. RDR2 really surpasses RDR1 with its side quests, Random encounters, NPC interaction, wildlife, Hand to hand combat, Leval of detail, exploration and disovery, Horse riding, Graphics, The honour system has more of an impact on the story of arthur, The chracters and story are more fleashed out. I hate challenging first person shooter games so to me I love playing red dead in third person with autoaim. I want to feel like a master gun slinger in the west while enjoying a great story not a hard one. I don't play games to be challenged I have that covered by real life I play to escape.

I wanna think that bonnie had some business in Blackwater. Probably with the bank and afterwards told one her ranch hands to meet her in Armadillo. From there they had other business to attend to in those oil fields maybe a supply run. From there it seemed like they were on their way back to the ranch when they found John.

I think RDR1 and RDR2 are the only games I like more than The Witcher 3. Witcher series is fantasy and really well written coming from novels but RDR just has this intimate story told over this sprawling adventure. I'm not a huge Rockstar fanboy all the time, I find the GTA series a little too juvenile in it's humor but RDR just hits a really solemn, touching feeling while still slipping in some humor that's silly but not too childish. I think it's the best balance I've seen. And Undead Nightmare is my favorite expansion that's ever been released. RDR2 is always what I use when I talk with friends who don't play games about how amazing their narrative can actually be.

Such a fantastic game. I don’t get all these fans ranking the two Red Deads... for their time, they’re both ahead of it.. both products of it.. they’re equal in their own right. I view the RD titles as R*’s hobby rather than their career (GTA). You can tell they just have so much more fun with them based on the overall research that goes into making the environment and aesthetics so nostalgic and accurate. I hope they continue to make more of these. I personally would like to see a remaster of the original! I think we all deserve to see Dutch die with this new technology after them having put us through that emotional rollercoaster of RDR2.

You lost me at "the gunplay is alright". RDR has the best gunplay/physics out of any shooter out there. It's funny how you complain about dead eye making the game too easy while playing the game using auto-aim. It's simple, play hardcore and don't use dead eye. With that said I think it was a fair critique in general.

This game is such a fantastic game and still holds up today. I played it after Rdr2 and the added context was great. They didn’t need to build up my investment to the character because I was already invested and interested in where John went next. The ride to Mexico was fantastic and the stranger missions are really good aswell. My favourite side characters are Uncle, Abigail and Seth. The voice acting is fantastic especially John. The outfits where really cool. My favourites where the Cowboy (Default) Elegant Suit and Poncho.

I am playing red dead redemption 2 right now. I also played Call of Juarez back in the day. I can't help but think how awesome RDR2 would be if the shooting was more involved and skills based than: holding L2, waiting for full accuracy ,aiming a bit higher for the headshot, pressing R2, releasing L2 repeat until everyone around has a bullet in their head.

Sorry to nitpick, but this is something I've seen in more than one of your videos. You have a tendency to overuse certain words in a single (or several consecutive) sentence(s), which can be annoying and take me out of the flow of your video. This can be fixed quite easily through editing and revision. For example, at 1:09 you say "Farmers and ranchers who previously lived SIMPLE and fairly straightforward lives SIMPLY farming and ranching" when you could say ""Farmers and ranchers who previously lived fairly straightforward lives simply farming and ranching" and it would get the same point across. 19:47

I agree with the criticism of the auto-aiming and the dead-eye system. I really enjoyed the hardcore version of the campaign that released with the Game of the Year edition. It really scaled back the power of the player. Dead-eye drains much faster and can only be restored by killing enemies or consumable items. The player's health is also vastly scaled down to the point where healing items are actually useful and sometimes even needed. Health recovers a lot slower, and the player dies after being shot roughly two to three times, making cover and a more thought-out approach to combat. Finally, hardcore can only be played with the expert targeting mode, once again, encouraging a more cautious and pragmatic playstyle.
