In the 60's songs were short ( less than 3 min) otherwise no one radio station would play them!

After hearing their whole catalogue and gone through all their progression and all the masterpieces you will come back to these early songs and find a lot in them and appreciation for the melodies you didn’t have years before when you first heard it. Love your content ❤

A lot of their singles aren't on the UK albums, so make sure and fit those at some point.

Great reaction Luke, to one of my favourite hidden gems by the Fab Four ! .. It's actually John and Paul singing perfectly in unison throughout, but John's voice is a little more prominent in most of the mix .. Just love this ! 👌👍

Nice to follow you on this discovery path, I must admit that I barely know their early records my mother had several albums, but not this one, so I'm not acquainted with it, except "A taste of Honey", "Love me do", "Twist and shout", and "Please please me" which were on several compilations. But, she was more on the Stone's side, so I grow up listining to the Stones (she said that during the 60's, you almost needed to chose between the two bands, it was almost like being member of a political party, even here in France 😂). It will be a pleasure to listen to the other ones along with you!

So peppy for sad lyrics lol! John and Paul sound great together here. Glad to see you're loving the journey so far. I think you'll be a bit gobsmacked at some point realizing every single song is fantastic, just the fact that anyone could just churn out song after song after song with never a skippable one.

Totally agree with all you said .. The only Beatles track I ever skip is "Revolution No.9" .. Absolute waste of time, and most inappropriate to be included on a Beatles album .. What was John thinking ???

That plinky piano totally lifts this little jewel of a song. Mirrored by Paul Young in Everytime You Go Away… a great 80s song worth a listen 😉

Excellent reaction to not a real catalog topper from the B's. Like your insight. I've been a Beatle fan since the Ed Sullivan US TV appearance that started them over here. Looking forward to your next one! ...

Yes, there's magic all over their songs and also shame how short they were but anyway very unique, no doubt. I notice how you liked those piano notes, wait until you listen 'In my life' many moons from now, the piano notes in the two songs are all George Martin, their Record Producer.

I think the boys had possibly a little bit to do with the magic lol! sir George always asked their opinions, and oftentimes they were quite vocal and insistent something be done a certain way. Sir George said in those cases, they were always right, so it paid for him to listen to them.

@@lauraallen55 haha, not a little bit but A LOT to do with it for sure, just referring to the piano notes exclusively. Also GM said that the boys were always eager to try unusual sounds and also new instruments, and whenever any new idea arose they used to ask for his opinion too, that was for sure a great relationship among all of them, feedback and support from all sides.

The great thing about this is John and Paul are singing the whole song together. Most people think that it’s double-tracked John, but Paul is providing the ‘double track’ which shows how great he could mimic John’s voice.

If songs like "Please Please Me" and "Love Me Do" were a sign pointing toward the future, this one is a throwback to the previous generation of rock and roll ballads. It's a song where John and Paul wore their influences on their sleeves, which is why it sits better alongside the covers ("Anna", "Chains", etc.) than the superior originals on the album.

That's George Martin (their producer) adding those lovely piano flourishes.

Thanks for listening to the original audio version of the song from the album, cause the live version of I Saw Her Standing There was, with all due respect, very unbalanced. You will see what I mean if you compare it with the original audio. This is not Beatles fault, Lennon once said that sometimes the equipment was lousy and they could not hear each other because of all the fans screaming. I think if you want to listen to the Beatles for the first better you better stick to original audios from the original albums. Thanks again!

They didn't write that song meaning to actually record. It was written with Helen Shapiro in mind (a young British singer). In the end, she did not record the song; they used it because they needed an album filler. But you can get a "girlish" vibe on it. I like it anyway. It`s very innocent and its melody is great (especially in part B).

It's the bass. That's what the Beatles is - the bass. It's Paul's genius, over and above the genius uf the other three..
