@@chrisbirch4150 That's almost exactly my thought cause I do believe there are a lot of similarity between Loma and Inoue in terms of techniques: balance, position, change of rhythm etc. Plus they both like to do a bit of showboating to please the crowd. For me Inoue is like a smaller version of Loma but with more devastating punching power.

One of the best balanced/foot work boxers I've ever seen. Dropped in the first, recalculated and never looked in trouble again. Been World champ in 4 weight divisions. Light flyweight, fly weight, bantam weight and super bantam weight. Finished a fight with a broken eye socket and nose he got in Rd 2 of 12 against Donaire which Inoue won on points by UD. Plenty of ticker.

It makes this win so much better to see Inoue face a bit of adversity. It proves his Grit & composure. Alongside high level fight IQ & adaptability. This one meant a lot to the people of Japan. For him to face that moment in the 1st rnd and not get wavered is beyond impressive. We just saw Devin Haney face adversity for example and he was Not able to handle it or find any tools or tactics to overcome it. This just shows how uniquely talented Inoue is. Can't wait to continue to see where his future goes from here. He really has been mastering his own biomechanics. It's insane. He's fought so many championship fights too. I'm seeing a lot of People online commenting who seem to really not understand that...

Always balanced ready to punch. That's one of his major assets. He's one of those rare boxers who punches straight from the shoulder with no windup but with torque and power. He punches through his opponent, not just at him. In the fight with Rodriguez, his punches were thrown with incredible velocity landing like a rocket hitting its target. He's a pleasure to watch.

Most of Inoue's I-caress-your-face-&-you-go-down are largely from only a few inches away. That's what most analysts are raving about. Any top fighter could drop another one --- like what Nery did do to Inoue at the openning of their first round ---- if they could do one of those powerful swings that both Tapales and Nery are known for... But, again, it is when you could easily drop your opponents from caressing their chin from literally just inches away, with only technique and torch... that's why even other elite fighters and analysts alike go oooh and ahhhhh

Really, really enjoyed this video. What I really like about this fight is that Inoue showed even the greatest ones make a mistake and the way he handled it. He admitted in an interview held the day after the match that he was overexcited and stiff in the first round but also said that he regularly simulates what to do when he's knocked down, like waiting until count 8 to get up even if he's not that hurt, and it certainly paid off.

If Inoue wanted to fight like Mayweather he could.... but he's a "Monster" and isn't content with cruising to a points win based on defence first. He takes risks to get his opponent out early... and if you take risks, you may get caught. But taking risks is what makes him "appointment viewing", and what has lead to a 90%+ knockout rate, which is crazy for his weight class.

Wow very trchnical in your breakdown. Inoue ability to produce power is due to his positioning,his hip and shoulder rotation and his athletic but powerful body. To me he is so far the best boxer of all generation. He breaks down his competitors,always balanced,varies his timing,and accordingly uses the right punch combinations. And his eyesight is tremendoes,keeps focus and always looks to attack or counter or counter to counter. Has most of the armours in arsenal.

It is deffinatly noteworthy that Nery was able to drop Inoue but all that came after that was a demonstration of boxing supremacy. And although the frase gets used a lot, Nery looked like he did not belong. What stood out to me the most is Inoue's economy and the fact that even the drop didn't give him any pause. Perfect, virtual reality, matrix type ish, where they feel exactly their best, sharpest, and a few size tweaks to fit a belt... if i were a billionaire I'd be investing in the tech to make it happen, lol. Folk were clowning on Roy, for not staying as fit as Mike...whole lotta factors their, and a little late now to try and turn the clock back. Tyson always got to much credit for power, and not enough for dedicated training to form, and, at least these days, insightful ring iq. RJJ, up against 95 of 100 brawlers, not saying talented amateurs of the art, anywhere within 50 lbs, is still liable to learn about "levels in it". Already probably on a "tldr" rant but, back to Naoya v Crawford; i love Inoue, he's a peak talent in a generation that may be more chock full than the early 90s. Bud may, imho, be the best boxer since Robinson. He's got skill, he grew up in a lab coat, ring iq, all of it. The instincts tho, the flow, like he was born for it, and don't feel right till risk is a razor's edge between win or lose, and time slows down like cold molasses. I know, "im glazing him", but he keeps doing it, proving that no one else can handle the pressure of waters as deep as him. Probably some American nepotism here, but when i draw up my personal pound fer pound, it's Bud #1, Naoya #2, and a little space before a bronze spot that's still being contested. Tank, Canelo, Loma(i know I'll get shade there, but I'd stick to it), Bivol; when i try to suss out #3 i wind up watching a bunch of fights, overanalyzing, and then shrugging. Too close, cant tell.

Inoue has perfected the one inch punch, only Shaolin monk, Bruce Lee, and Inoue can hurt his opponents with the one inch punch, so much torque behind that short punch. Look at the knock out punch on round 6, very short punch but so powerful that it snap Nery head back so far that's why Nery is unable to get up.

Naoya is a once-in-a-generation boxing prodigy who is way too fast, and precise and has exceptional natural power in both hands. Nery is a good boxer but not at the level of Inoue. Naoya will stop Nery on or before the 6th round. Nery will make the (ego) mistake to try and dictate the pace not realizing that Naoya is setting him up... a harrowing painful experience for Nery but it will be quick! "It's cruel and inhuman punishment to ask anybody to fight Inoue" Bob Arum This was my post before the actual fight. Excellent breakdown of Naoya's masterful techniques. Naoya has practiced (sparring) these maneuvers that he is so confident in creating confusion (getting the opponent to question which is not a good thing). Naoya knows exactly what the opponent's reaction will be, and by this time it is too late for the opponent. The only other observation is the common mistake that fighters make: They drop the opposite hand of the one that they're hitting with. To Nery's credit, this is how he was able to knock down Naoya. Naoya threw a left uppercut and missed, Nery instinctively took his lead foot to the outside and let the hook fly catching Naoya. This is the same thing that Crawford did to Spence for dropping his hand.

That's just not true. Lol. Loma, Usyk, and Bivol are all better than him. He's just extremely powerful and fast amongst the small guys he's fighting, but when he moves up in weight and his power stops being so effective, and he has to rely on skill more, he won't be as effective as Loma, because his skills are not as good. He's heavily reliant on his power and speed.

Yes agree. His basic boxing is lvl1000/10. And Then we saw his opponent .they mostly "big upper body" but have skinny legs. His basic boxing is great its generated from his leg .and his power has generate from leg too. His has not traine only punch technique and foot work . His trainer help him build strong leg .his weight isnt only from upper body . people think about how to throw deadly punch by punch heavy bag. That is not true

Bivol is a 1 weight champ, Usyk is a 2 weight champ who was undisputed at Cruiser and unified heavyweight and Bud is a 3 weight champ undisputed in 2 weights like Inoue, only with less divisions than Inoue

The changing of timing that luke is talking about is what Bruce lee called broken rhythm in his jkd book. Getting your opponent off rhythm and making your opponent not be able to get timing down and to get them akward and uncomfortable. Inoue is the best I’ve ever seen at judging distance and timing. The guy just doesn’t waste any of his punches and is the most efficient boxer we have seen in a long time.

Naoya Inoue's jab is very similar to the no-motion jab often used by Mexican boxers. I learned this through repeated practice while checking my own motions over and over again in front of the mirror. Even with just one jab, Naoya Inoue's punches are top notch.
