Can't wait for the final showdown. Junto Nakatani beats 3 other Japanese champions (including Naoya's brother Takuma) to become undisputed at Bantamweight. Years later he catches up to Inoue and they fight at featherweight for all the belts. Of course there's still 100 episodes before that battle.

Inoue , thru out his career, have been hit harder, aka Donaire 1st fight...But to me this was more off Nery does punch hard and Inoue just caught off guard, and perhaps a bit off balance too...When Inoue was looking up from the canvas, you can tell he wasn't groggy nor in duress, nothing like that ...Donaire 1st fight was STILL Inoue's toughest imo..
@hotsingleplaguedoctorinarea
@hotsingleplaguedoctorinarea 4 ай бұрын
@@pallen49 He got caught admiring his work, for him it was a flash knockdown with some sting to it, nothing to put him out but nothing to be careless about either. I think team Inoue from here on should have him focus further on his defensive responsibility (especially when he throws that right, and getting off the centerline and/or out of distance with responsible head movement and footwork. He already does this, but he also does occasionally forget it in exchanges) as well as his footwork with moving off angle backwards. He has a tendency to get caught up in his distance traps, where he ends up sliding straight back too often or launching into the ropes when blitzed at. No fighter is flawless ofcourse, this was still an excellent display of skill and hardwork by team Inoue, and Inoue handled that knockdown extremely well.

Wow, that was helluva fight! Nery came in swinging and went out swinging. The heart he showed was amazing, but even besides that, Nery actually fought a very technical fight as well. Kudos to him and his team, because they really had a plan, and for a short while, it worked. This is how boxing should be. Nery showed that if he keeps himself in shape, trains hard, and stays focused, he can be formidable. It's just too bad he was against a Monster. In any case, whatever animosity there was against Nery over here is all now gone. He's really earned a ton of respect from the Japanese fans tonight!

Inoue could win easier if he fought safe. When Inoue tries to knock the opponent out, he needs to expose himself too.

He says he can win by points easily, but that isn't fun for the fans who paid a lot of money to be entertained, which is the reason he goes for KOs even if it is risky

He was was to relaxed in the first round like the dude above me said. He came out throwing telegraphed over hands and stayed on the inside with his chin up. The kd really did wake him up cuz he was playing too much 😂

Great boxing skills , Naoya Inoue is elusive and his power in both hands makes him dangerous . Knocked down , he kept his poise , stayed with his plan of pressuring his opponent , exposing weaknesses and then exploiting them . This was a great fight , as his opponent Luis Nery was skillful , well trained , and dangerous as HELL .

Watch the slow mo knockdown, inoue off position and hands tied in entanglement so he ate the hook flush. But he wasn’t out. He fell cos he was already off balance. Throwing caution to the wind in the early rounds in higher weigh class can be super risky. Glad he realised that after and went back to work as usual

That’s the difference between Japanese boxing and American boxing. Inoue gets off the canvas and fights his way to victory while American boxers get knocked down 5 times and the judges try to rob the fighter that is clearly winning the fight. Japanese boxing makes American boxing look like a complete joke
