One thing I will say about LukieGames is that they will send you a replacement free of charge along with you keeping the original. I bought Kirby’s Adventure awhile ago and it arrived broken but they sent me a new one within 3 day(Might be because I live in the same state) But all my stuff from lukiegames have come in great condition

The store software DK uses (Big Commerce) allows the owner to edit product reviews and ratings. Seemingly all positive 5-star reviews on almost all items should be a big sketchy red flag to anyone potentially looking to buy from DK. Cheers,

So i want to add that when looking at reviews, you had it set to top rated first, so all the best reviews would show first. I honestly havent looked to see if DK oldies has any bad reviews and if they weeded them out but i will say for future reference to try to sort it by lowest stars. Otherwise great video and it makes me want to try out lukies!

Outrageous prices for that xbox. For the n64 a genuine first party controller would have been nice also. Crazy price for a ps2 as well. Ebay is your friend

I have never bought anything from DK Oldies but I once bought some N64 controllers from Lukie Games and aftter two exchanges (three sets of controllers sent back and forth), I gave up and just got a refund. Every single ones they sent me had really really bad analog sticks that either didn't work or were difficult to move. Not really sure how to describe it other than the sticks were hard to push with my thumb, they were so tight.

I know this is an old comment, but I also had this problem, but I didn’t return it because of the hassle. I’ve shopped with lukie for 10+ years and they always resolve any issues. With that said I think the issue with a stuck or hard to move joy stick is because it’s probably been replaced with a aftermarket joystick.

It's not difficult to track consoles by serial numbers at least. The vagueness on these sites is intentional. Dk just deletes the worst reviews. I think dk actually posts fake positive reviews. We need to find the people that got a bad deal and left negative feedback that wasn't posted on the site!
@OfficialChaseBrogan Жыл бұрын
Agreed that's one thing I'll say with Lukie they leave the reviews up even if they aren't great which is good. I think we can all agree not everyone is always going to be happy with every company so we expect to see some reviews that aren't great on occasion. Dko with all 5 stars is clearly not accurate

I don't look for systems, but Lukie Games has hilariously bad prices on any game that's somewhat popular or hard to find. If a game goes for $40 on eBay, they want $120. If it goes for $100, they want $280. It's always more than twice what it actually goes for, I think that's their ripoff rule of thumb. If you think DKO is bad on games, Lukie will make em' blush.
@soccersensation Жыл бұрын
Anyone being objective can't really make an argument for either company unless you've used them both. Their prices are relatively similar so the price argument is out of the window. DK clearly doesn't refurbish all of their consoles like they claim so that is a huge red flag. On the other hand DK does offer a 1 year warranty on all products. I've seen and heard good and bad stories for both companies with regards to receiving good products or getting issue resolved. Let's not just jump on the bandwagon of bashing one or the other having not used them both.

@@OfficialChaseBrogan I'm looking forward to it. I not too long discovered them and just placed a few items in my cart but I plan to do some research before buying. Most of the items are cheaper than DK but there are a couple that are actually more expensive. DK gives you the option of "cosmetically flawed" or "good condition" but I don't see such on Lukie. I guess with the type of items we're buying it will always be a risk.
@OfficialChaseBrogan Жыл бұрын
That's true! Always a risk. Maybe they don't sell cosmetically flawed? Not sure there. I only heard of Lukie about 2 weeks ago but pleasantly surprised. Some stuff is more expensive although I found that when diving deeper into DKO most actually isn't because DKO posts the cosmetically flawed price on items so when you actually click on items the price for "good" brings it up considerably.
@P_D-px6iv Жыл бұрын
@@OfficialChaseBrogan Lukie Games "discounted" products are their cosmetically flawed, for example if you look at say the PS2's and press on the "Playstation 2 Slim Silver System - Discounted" in the Description it states ~ "Please note that this system has cosmetic flaws and has been discounted appropriately (flaws may include marking, small cracks, discoloration, etc)"

Everybody doing these videos talks about the prices as though they don’t understand how businesses work. DK oldies seems to be a shady AF company, but if they are shady it’s because they are misleading their customers. Period. Not because of the price. The price is irrelevant. If I list my original childhood N64 for $5000, that’s my right. It’s of great sentimental significance. If you’re dumb enough to buy it, that’s on you. The consumer has SOME responsibility. The other thing I’m hearing is people comparing individuals selling personal items on eBay with companies selling products on websites. There really is no comparison. I saw a youtuber point to the price dkoldies offers for n64s ($35) and then showed what they were charging (I think they were selling them for like $200). He then said, indignantly, “That’s $165 profit!” I just shook my head. The amount of money that the company pays to acquire inventory is just one of their expenses. I would have thought that’s obvious. If you got a console for $35 and sold it for $200, then yeah, fine. But for an actual company the gap between the price they pay for their inventory and what they charge has to cover ALL of their overhead. All of their expenses. They have infrastructure to support their business. They have to have offices, warehouses, employees. They need to pay for the electricity to keep the lights on, oil to heat the buildings. They have to pay to keep their site online. There’s a reason they’re cutting corners. When you order fries at McDonald’s you aren’t just paying for a couple of potatoes and a pinch of salt. You’re paying for McDonald’s to exist.
@OfficialChaseBrogan Жыл бұрын
I agree on businesses having overhead and costs. I own a fairly large business with a physical location myself so I definitely get that however in this case their prices more than cover their payroll and overhead. The issue with them isn't pricing alone. It's pricing for what they advertise which isn't what buyers in most cases receive. You're advertising refurbished consoles and sending out stuff that was never refurbished. If it was actually refurbished then I get the higher cost and can justify it within reason. Can't do that with DKO. Lukie games I'm going to be checking as soon as my order comes in. Prices are higher but I'm okay with it if the condition is as advertised.

Prices for both are straight up scams, If they show USD prices i cant even imagine the CAD sticker shock. Better off going to ebay or a local pawn shop.
@OfficialChaseBrogan Жыл бұрын
Prices aren't scams. There's nothing misleading there. Doesn't mean it's a good price but we know it's high going in. I get it to an extent with some stuff but most is beyond what I'd be willing to pay personally. I can't fathom paying $100 for a GameCube game for example that was 1/3 of that price new 20+ years ago. This is where emulation gains some serious steam. I do like eBay but you definitely have to be careful on there. Lots of shady sellers looking to waste your time. You're protected as a buyer but disputes and resolutions take months still. Found that out with a ps5 I got scammed on.

Overall, I've had a good run with Lukie Games. Once they sent me a damaged UN Squadron even though it was listed as being in "good" condition (no cosmetic flaw). That kinda sucked, but it was one strike out of maybe 20 orders. They once also sent me the wrong Batman game on the Game Boy (I ordered Animated Series and they sent me Batman: The Video Game). But, after being notified, they sent over the right cart and let me keep the other one for free. So, that one worked out for the best, but it was a mistake on their part.
